My experience as a first and last client within 4 business days was disastrous. I entered the shop as a walk-in and was greeted as if I was interrupting, which was really awkward. Although their sign and Instagram say walk-ins welcomed, I did not feel that at all. One lady soaked off my nails, then switched seats for another. After 1 hour of soaking, I requested an acrylic simple design as pictured. I was talked out of that for gel-x, which I explained my last experience at a different nail shop with gel-x did not turn out well. She proceeded with the gel-x anyway based on her preference. Fine, I'll take advice, no issue. The issue wasn't until she calculated my total. After 3 hours for a soak off and this short, simple, gel-x design, I was then informed to pay $145. Needles to say, flabbergasted because how? Well, they double charge for a design and chrome on 1 finger, they upcharge, and charge for every single finger design šŸ˜³šŸ˜²šŸ¤ÆšŸ˜µā€šŸ’«šŸ˜µ. I paid because it was a good service, although she was very rough with her tools. And unable to tell from skin to nail. Needles to say, I will not be returning. After posting to my Instagram, many others have been played and had the same experience, unfortunately. Do not waste your money because 4 days later, I was back in the shop to get my chipped nail fixed. I also wanted the chrome fixed on a few other nails, but I was told it would just keep happening. They tried to charge $12 for a chipped nail in less than 5 days of paying $145, crazy, absolutely not. Luckily, they understood and fixed, but only my chipped nail was fixed. The chrome did not last and the black is showing through on all my nails. Don't get sucked in trying to support this black-owned business. RUN to another nail shop, nail tech. Prices are ridiculous! Gel-x starts at $75, short acrylic full set starts at $65, long acrylic full set starts at $85, all without designs. Save your money honey, it won't last, not worth the headache or customer service.

When I came in I was able to sit down right away because I did have an appointment. I showed my nail tech what I wanted done. She said ok. When it was time for the nail art the first technique she used to put the color on didn’t work so then she used the spray method. As she was doing my nails she was really rough to where it broke some skin some kind of solution that was sprayed on my feet caused really bad burning and irritation because of the broken skin because she was so rough with filing my nails she didn’t apologize for hurting me.. going forward I still liked the design the way it came out. Fast forward to the end she didn’t thank me for supporting nor did she give a warning goodbye see you next time nothing. She got out of there to run to the restroom I thought she was coming back even though she told someone else to check me out she wasn’t clear on pricing nothing was posted either or explained..One of the other associates took my card to check me out I asked her how much is everything she said I got to check. I don’t understand why she said that when clearly the tech told her what to ring me up for. While all this is going on I’m still at the bowl I’m getting pictures taken of my feet. The associate asked me did I want to leave a tip I said yes. I only tip because that’s what I do anyways. I shouldn’t have because I didn’t like the service totally but I did like the look of my toenails. The associate came back with a receipt with well over 200 dollars being charged. This is definitely a over charge in my opinion I don’t know about anyone else but I wouldn’t dare pay two hundred dollars for something so simple. I’m disappointed because I love supporting black owned businesses. I will not come here again the environment & customer service & prices is outrageous for something so mediocre. Don’t get me wrong I’ve paid and tip when it was worth it but definitely wasn’t deserved here. Nail tech name is whit by the way.

Ok so I’ve been searching for a nail shop since I’ve moved to Baltimore and finally I’ve found NOVA Nails! It’s really a new GEM in the area. Did I mention they are black owned, I LOVE THAT FOR US!!!! My experience was 10/10! I did call before I came to ensure they take walk-ins (which they do). I recommend making an appointment in advance as they have a clientele. When I booked I honestly didn’t have a person to book with. However after looking at their instagram, the google reviews and photos you can’t go wrong with any of the nail artist. The work alone speaks for its self. I walked in I was greeted all the ladies were very attentive. I had on a pervious acrylic overlay, which was examined and it was recommend I receive a whole new set (absolutely, no problem!). The fact that I didn’t have to ask if they could use the cotton and foil to remove the overlay set the tone. I knew my nails would be handled with care. Nique competed my overlay and when I appreciated being able to converse with my nail artist (it truly makes a difference). I showed her my Inspo pic for the neutral color I wanted aNd she already had the color in mind that was exactly what I wanted. Being able to really converse and explain what I wanted made a difference in how my nails turned out. Im seriously happy I found Nova Nails I’ll definitely be back soon.

Found Nova Nails on Tik tok.Beautifully decorated establishment and playlist was a hit. Unfortunately, customer service fell extremely short. I called Nova Nail around 1:30pm and asked the staff if they were busy. The staff replied no. I arrived just before 2:00pm greeted by two young ladies at the hostess desk. I spoke and informed the ladies I would like a manicure and pedicure. One of the young ladies said, ā€œplease check in and you may have a seatā€; I did as I was told. After about 10 minutes waiting to receive service, I woman walked in and signed in..than sat down. After waiting 10 more minutes she was in a chair getting her nail done. After waiting another 10 mintues, another woman walks in and she’s greeted by staff. I over hear the woman say that she’s a walk-in. She signed in and sat down. One of the nail techs at the first booth asked what she wanted done. The woman told the nail tech she wanted to get her nails done and the particular service. She told the woman that it will be an hour wait. I waited another 10 minutes. I finally see the one of the hostess that greeted me over 30minutes ago and I ask when will my services start. She asked another nail tech when they’re available, which she said 10 minutes. No ā€œim sorry for the waitā€ I even said thank you. She said nothing. No attentiveness and sense of urgency. All around fumbled on customer service. I waited an additional 7minutes and left. If you have an abundance of hours in your day to sit in a beautifully decorated nail shop with great music while waiting to get your toes and nails done—-this maybe the nail shop for you šŸ™‚ Do not recommended anyone to this establishment who...
