My wife, doesn’t know much about jewelry but she knew I wanted a gold chain (preferably Cuban link) but she didn’t know. She went to this establishment for Father’s Day and was sold a 10K gold chain for 2900. I instantly knew she was ripped off so we went back to the store and they insisted that she wasn’t and offered to exchange my chain for another one. Problem was most of the gold worth buying weighed more which caused the price to jump. But they do something underhanded when weighing their gold. They weigh a ten karat gold chain at the same rate if 14 K , 18k and 24 K. Price per gram of 10 k is currently (6/2022) about $23.60 The weight of my chain was at 45 grams, multiply that by 23.60 the price of my 10 K gold chain (@ a weight of 45 grams) is supposed to be $1,062. They replaced the chain for another one, larger rope chain, but I refused to pay any extra for it due to the chain also being 10K (this chains weight was 49 grams I believe) $1,156 should have been the total for that chain. I try to stay away from big chains such as Kay’s, and Zales but after this experience I will never buy from a place that doesn’t offer returns only rip off exchanges. Be weary when purchasing jewelry from them, as you can see they made out with over 1800 of an inflation rate with the chain I bought. Also watch how they place the jewelry on the scale and use the same math as if it’s 24 K gold (price of 24 K is about 61 per gram). 49 grams x $61= 2,989 (around what I paid for a 10 K gold chain of the...
Read moreReally disappointing experience purchasing from this store. I bought an engagement ring here last July and they said they could resize it that day, then when I bought it, now the jeweler is on vacation for the next two weeks. Last month one of the little diamonds fall off, and we brought it to fix or even maybe exchange it - and the exchange policy is ridiculous - you need to exchange the ring for something at least twice the original value and pay the difference? Why is even trading it in for something less not an option? Poorly designed ring and really disappointing customer service and policies.
Edit: Took the ring to other jewelers who all said the same thing: it’s a low quality ring that was poorly made, the diamonds poorly cut, prongs exposed which causes the ring to get caught. Apparently RF Jewelers is also notorious for overcharging customers too.
Just avoid this place and literally go...
Read moreI brought three Cartier watches to RK Jeweler for battery replacement around 1:45 PM and returned to pick them up at 4 PM. While the staff was polite and explained that two of the watches would require additional servicing, I was shocked to be charged $85 for a simple battery change on the third watch.
I’ve owned this watch for over a decade and have never paid anything close to that amount for a battery replacement—especially without any luxury service or explanation to justify the cost. I paid without arguing, but in hindsight, I absolutely should’ve asked for the price upfront.
Whether or not this is standard practice for this business, the pricing felt excessive and not transparently communicated. Word of advice: ask for all pricing in advance. I walked away feeling taken advantage of....
