Perfect Nails and Spa — Local services in Tucson

It’s ironic this place is called “Perfect Nails.” I scheduled an appointment for my friend and I to do nails together cause I was secretly making her do her nails in preparation for her marriage proposal the next day. The salon was empty, but they sat us near opposite ends of the salon. Okay…that’s fine, I guess I understand each worker (only 2 of them there) has their own work station. I should preface by saying my mother used to own a salon and I went to nail school myself in high school to help her out, so I know what to look for. I asked for a colored French gel manicure. But the technique from my nail technician was just all wrong. She would only place the base gel polish on the MIDDLE part of the nail and out. Then glob on the color at the end to do the French style (a bit unevenly). And then for the top coat, she was literally smashing the brush onto the nail repeatedly, starting at the MIDDLE and out. Never at the top. Her technique honestly looked like if I asked my husband to do my nails. I asked her how long she’s been doing nails and replied 6 years to my amazement. The results were as I expected: bulbous feeling ends where she blobbed on the color and no shine at the top of my nails (only starting from middle and out)…in fact, they started flaking on the sides a few days later since they were not covered in top coat and was unevenly applied with the smashing. All this for $50 and tip? I’m sure there are techs here who do great cause my friend’s nails came out great. But, I’d be wary of who does my nails here. I absolutely love this place, it's my first time trying it and I can honestly say I cannot wait to go back got a pedicure and a new set, I love the fact that they take their time and make sure that everything is perfect, you can really tell they like what they do and care about what customers think, the pedicure was absolutely amazing the massage everything nails came out absolutely fantastic, only recommendation is for them to put out a sign that they would prefer cash tip instead of using a tip on card, but I was told next time to make sure I bring cash for a tip, so heads up anyone that comes and u pay with the card make sure you have...

My wedding was on 8.30 and my original nail tech had to cancel on me, 7 days in advance. Well to say I was panicked was an understatement. I needed to find someone who could squeeze me into their schedule but also did good work. After searching for hours I came across Perfect Nails and Spa. I called them up, praying that I could get my nails done and they were able to fit me right in. The place was clean and they were taking extra steps and precautions because of Covid.
