Wanted to try out a new fast food joint in the neighborhood, Salad & Go, where I ordered a breakfast burrito. It’s across the intersection from El Potosino. Hadn’t been to El Potosino in well over a year, so decided to get a similar breakfast burrito there and compare the two. My expectation was that the El Potosino burrito would be superior, since they’re ostensibly dedicated to Mexican cuisine and not a salad place, and thus would give me a good baseline on which to judge the Salad & Go burrito. The Salad & Go order was a “Turkey Sausage, Egg & Cheese” breakfast burrito, the El Potosino order was a “Sausage Burrito”. Both burritos came with salsa, both burritos the same size. The El Potosino burrito had cut up chunks of sausage links (presumably pork) and eggs, no cheese. No cheese? Huh? El Potosino’s online menu advises “Breakfast Burritos do not include Cheese or Potatoes.” The burrito was bland, a bit dry albeit a bit greasy, not as tasty or spicy as the Salad & Go burrito — you _had_ to use the salsa to get any spice or flavor. It was also more than double the price at $7.60 compared to Salad & Go’s at $3.63. Drive-Thru service at El Potosino was borderline adequate if not exactly friendly. Dude seemed bored to be there and didn’t make one feel welcome, as if serving customers were an unreasonable job responsibility. Apparently a local Tucson chain, as their website mentions a Prince Rd. location, so at least two of them. I love supporting Tucson- and Arizona-based businesses, but the businesses have to be worthy of my custom. There was nothing about this visit that would make me want to return. I probably will one day, just to give them another chance, but these guys need to step it up a bit. Suggest they check out Salad & Go for inspiration… and a delicious breakfast burrito at less than half their price.

I NEVER leave bad reviews. I usually suck up and eat the food. If I could give this place negative stars, I would! The NASTIEST burrito ever! The fries were soggy and not even cooked! They were old for sure. NO SEASONINGS! my dog has better food..... don't waste your money! The last 3 times I've come here, the young lady has given us such a hard time. Real short and rude. We also had a meat lovers and there was 1 little piece of bacon and a bunch of eggs. Couldn't taste the Ham or anything! TAKE PRIDE IN YOUR FOOD! PEOPLE PAY FOR YOUR FOOD! ITS EXPENSIVE AND NOT WORTH IT. NOT TO BE HARSH BUT PLEASE CLOSE DOWN IF YOU CANT PROVIDE GOOD FOOD TO TUCSON!

I don’t come here for the atmosphere I’m here for the food. In my considering moving to Arizona I first stayed a week in Tucson. During that week I can across a 24h drive thru place serving Mexican fare. I had a chicken chimichanga……so good. A few days later I had the ground beef chimichanga……so good. So I kept this place in my favorite list. This weekend my guy and I decided to come through Tucson for a weekend just hanging out. I brought here in for a visit….. he said as a native of Phoenix, this is up near the top places he likes. So thank you, keep up the good cooking

Ordinarily I'd give Potosino a 5 star review. I eat there nearly everyday, placing the same order each time, never complaining when the order is wrong. I order a California burrito and a $1 bean burrito, I ask for 3 red and 3 green sauces because I mix them, after mixing them I have 4 1/2 or 5 sauces. Every employee except for one has been outstanding every time I come in. I've come in at least 1000 times in the last 3 years. I don't know the particular employee's name, but she has been working the cash register lately. She is black, or a black mix, and she's the only employee there who fits this description. 2 weeks ago she made up a lie and tried to tell me I could only have 2 sauces per item, and that I must pay $1 for the extra 2 sauces. I was furious, but I took the 4 red, and let it slide. After that incident I inquired with every employee there, about what the policy is on hot sauces. The response I received, verbatim is that "there is no policy, and that she was stupid for arguing with a customer who comes in every day." Well I came in on 8/10 around 6 pm, and the same employee pulled the stunt again. This time in front of a lobby full of people. She immediately became hostile and combative, taking a big huff before trying to make me pay for the extra 2 sauces. This time I questioned her. I did it without raising my voice, without threatening, and without swearing. But she felt the need to threaten to kick me out and to call the police. I asked where it says the policy about sauces on the menu or in the restaurant. I asked who told her to enforce this policy, her response was a lie "saying the lady who works during the day who sometimes brings her kid told me I could only have 2 sauces per item" That never happened, and as a matter of fact, since her first stunt, I dealt with that woman in question and she had no problem giving me my 3 red and 3 green each time. The black lady refused to satisfy me by giving the 3 red and 3 green, like I received every time except twice in over 1000 visits! This woman became combative and defensive to my questioning. I placed my order to dine in so that I could enjoy my food with sauce, the only way I'll eat burritos. With just 4 sauces between 2 items I'd only enjoy half of the first burrito at home. So I calmly stood and waited for my food, when it was ready she attempted to force me to take it to go despite my ordering it for dine in. The short older woman did the right thing and served my food on a tray. The black woman, who was the cashier, is supposed to be the front line face of your company! She's interacting with the customers, and the way I've seen her interact with customers, and now with my experience with her, the only thing that can be done to make this right is to fire her! The way this woman treated me makes me feel that your company doesn't care for customers. She threatened to call the cops on me, and might have; over nothing. She tried to kick me out of the restaurant because I was calmly asking questions. She made an ass of herself and of the company in front of 40 people in the lobby, and now this long time super loyal customer, is left questioning my loyalty. I wanted to go in last night but didn't, because I didn't want to deal with her. I want a california burrito tonight, but I will not drive out of my way to deal with that woman. There are plenty of places to eat in Tucson, small local business's should realize that customer loyalty is #1 when it comes to running a small business, especially a restaurant! That woman's snotty response and excuse for trying to charge me for sauce is that "it's a business" well she clearly doesn't understand business if she's willing to alienate a customer who's spent on average $10 each time visiting over the course of 1000 + visits in just 3 years; instead of parting with the $.05 sauce cup. If this woman isn't fired I don't know if I can bring myself to continue going out of my way...

I ordered a large lemonade, a flan and a meat lovers breakfast burrito. This is what I usually get here. The obese man who took my order had an attitude, I just shrugged it off. I just got my food and headed home. Once home, I noticed that I was not provided with a receipt and that my flan was partially opened and leaking in the bag. The flan was $4, so I was bummed. I took a small taste of the flan and noticed that it tasted off. I called the store and the obese man told me that I needed to bring the flan to the store for a refund, so I did. They did not apologize or have anything to say. They treated me like a liar and gave me dirty looks. Once the obese man handed me my money back, they mocked me by saying there was nothing wrong with the flan and then the obese man tried to antagonize me, by repeating I hope you have a better day, and he said this multiple times while shaking his head. I then flipped him off and drove away. When I got home I wanted to call the store to speak to a manger, to report how I was treated, only to see that they had blocked my number. I have been eating at this store for years and this whole experience really upset me. I got in my car and drove to the store and the moment I walked in, I started recording for my protection and they shouted at me, saying that this is private property and that they will call the police. I told them to call the cops. They said there are witnesses to me flipping them off. Poor babies. They treat their customers like trash and then they make a huge deal, when the customer gets mad and flips them off. I probably shouldn’t have done that, but my typed words don’t do this experience justice, I was treated like trash. I even tried to apologize and level with the person that told me that she was the owner and she would not let me speak, she just talked over me and said I don’t care, you are done and denied that I had been eating there for years, saying if I had eaten there for years, then why doesn’t she know me. I mainly ordered take out, but I have dined in there as well. Either way, what an obnoxious thing to challenge a customer on. Then the obese man walked outside to my car and took photos of my vehicle and license plate. These people are nuts. They would not provide their names and they just acted crazy during this entire experience. I used to eat here because I work overnights and they are always open, but the food is mediocre. Holy moly these people were unintentionally hilarious. Avoid this place at all cost. They are CooCoo for Coco puffs at...

I decided to go through the drive-thru tonight because one I am sick and 2 it was the closest place to Walgreens on my way back home from picking up medicine. I ordered a simple carne asada burrito with beans and rice no guac and no salsa. The young man when answering the phone stated I know you ordered a carne asada burrito and you didn't say no guacamole or salsa. (?)I then reiterated to him when ordering the burrito I asked specifically 4 carne asada with beans and rice. Then explained that I cannot eat the burrito due to allergies from guacamole and onion. I let him know I could not take it back due to my circumstance. However, as soon as I felt better I would save and take the burrito back in . He went silent on the phone and I waited for a response. There was complete silence for about 5 minutes I sat on the phone thinking he may have just placed me on hold. To my Prevail that's not what occurred so I called back, with no answer and avoidance if my call? It's unfortunate the customer service experience that I've had here. Not on just this occasion but on several occasions prior. I usually spend quite a bit of money at the El Potosino restaurants. This is a new side of town for me but this chain is not new. I will not becoming this location again. And due to the treatment I am really looking at not going to any of the El Potosino Mexican restaurants due to this type of customer service experience. Not only do I have the flu but I am 8 weeks pregnant and could have had a serious reaction due to this in correct order. Thank goodness I checked my food before I ate it. After trying to call back a few more times and no one answering I waited and called back around 7:45 p.m. this time a young woman answered who took my name and information to give to the manager. My drive-through time was around 6 p.m. A manger of whom never...
