Would not recommend this practice. Had a consultation with Dr. Lew for a hernia on 4/11 after being referred by my PCP. Right from the start Dr. Lew did not seem interested in performing the procedure. He explained all of the complications that could arise if not treated but ended with "since its not causing you any pain or discomfort, you don't have to do anything about it right now." When I explained that I wanted to proceed with the surgery based on my PCPs recommendation he stated it would be 2-3 months before they could fit me in. He said their scheduler would call me within a week to schedule the procedure, but if I didn't hear from them within a week to call the office. After a week of not hearing from them, I called the office as instructed and was told the scheduler was sick that day but should be back tomorrow. Called the next day and was sent to the scheduler's voicemail. Called the following day and was told the scheduler is out with the flu but would return my voicemail as soon as she returned to work. Waited another week with no return call and left several voicemails over the ensuing days. Waited until April 26 without hearing back from anyone and messaged my PCPs office to ask if there was another surgeon they could refer me to and was told "the scheduler is out sick this week" and if they referred me somewhere else it would delay the surgery even further. Still no return call by the middle of May, so I called another practice that my wife had previously visited and was pleased with. Was able to schedule a consultation that week and before I left the office, my surgery was scheduled for 6/1. I am now recovering from surgery and still have not heard anything from Saguaro Surgical nearly two months after my consultation. However, they did charge my insurance over $300 even though I paid my co-pay for the consultation and they provided NO SERVICE whatsoever. Bottom line, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME with Saguaro Surgical, they clearly don't need...

Incredible patient care. Was laid up out of nowhere in hospital for 2 weeks from intestinal obstruction. I ended up at emergency room and admitted into TMC.

Dr Lew met with me while I was in SIGNIFICANT PAIN (like a 9.99999 / I was HOWLING in ER lobby.

Dr Lew advised I would need to have emergency surgery after he saw CT scan.

He said that he would open me up and look at the block to see if a section needed to be removed. I am pretty skeptical of modern medicine in that my perception is that they will choose the biggest money maker/ most extensive path.

I was incorrect! He went in and made the decision to NOT cut out a section because he said that the blocked section still had a little life left. He also said he wanted to go back in in 24 hours for a second surgery to see if there was improvement - if not he’d have to remove.

I figured “ok here we go. Now he will do it” but he didn’t! He went in and saw a slight improvement and decided to NOT cut!

Needless to say, this created a TON of trust for me and I would say I was actually amazed at this!

The next 7 days were rough (no food, nose tube, and feeding through PICC line in arm. I would only see DR Lew in the morning each day, but he personally came to my room every single morning the entire time I was at hospital and stayed until all my questions (or demands haha) were addressed.

I appreciate the care I was given and really believe that Dr Lew loves what he does and is excellent at what he does. ...

About 2 weeks ago, I met with Dr. Lew to discuss my options for treating a condition I have. He is very nice, explained everything to me, and is easy to talk to. After our meeting I decided to go with out-patient surgery. Since that time, I have tried numerous times to contact the staff to make arrangements but have not been able to. The first time, I was told the scheduler would call me back but she never did. I don't get home until around 4:00 p.m. and try calling every day. They say they close at 4:30 but between 4:00 and 4:30, all I get is their voice mail with their after-hours message. I guess I will have to start over with a different surgeon. If the doctors are not aware of this problem, I hope they read...
