If you like Pier 1, but prefer more authentic pieces, go to World Market. I have been shopping at World Market for more than ...15 years, longer? No matter how many times I walk in, I fall in love each time. My daughter's first silverware came from here, the only place that had adult style mini silverware at that time, that I liked. She learned to use her fork and knife properly with the black wrought iron looking pieces with the flat spiraled end.
I had just arrived in the US with her, from Japan; my first time in the US without connection to the military, even though I am American, I did not know how to shop or where. I had been raised overseas, you see, and when I arrived, I had $538 and extremely little support at first, and no job.
I started building up a lifestyle here, getting a job and slowing filling our apartment. When I entered World Market, I felt so at home! With food and tea from everywhere I had lived overseas; friendly people, and that silverware! I literally saved up my pennies, nickels and dimes, buying my daughter's first, then to buy me 1 each: fork, knife, tablespoon and teaspoon. I saved to hopefully one day own a whole set!
World Market tells my journey in the things I bought from there, from her silverware to start, to dishes, glasses, other utensils, placemats, pillows, little odds and ends...bathroom stuff, from top to bottom, and to yesterday, buying World Market bowls for my daughter, now an adult with a household of her own. (She lives abroad and could not find a bowl that met her needs.) How did she ask for one? " Mom, can you get me a bowl for my oatmeal, like your World Market bowls...," and she went on to describe what she was looking for, in size, style and shape. My World Market bowls...
Dear World Market, in a decade that has begun with a pandemic, and over the last decade plus, you still employ amazing people, with great service orientation. No matter where I go, from Arizona to Utah, and many states between, I know I can count on your stores being fantastic every time. I wish you still had the silverware that marked our first purchase and you deserve to know I am still happy with what we have.
I still travel the world and come home to see little things that remind me of the countries I visit. Brings a smile to my face every time, especially when I think of our journey with your store.
So thank you! Thank you...
Read moreAmazing! So much inspiration and so many cool items! So kind there aswell.
So much cool stuff, incredible food items, wasn't able to get anything there but the collection of stuff there is strong and unique, if you ever need somewhere to stop for food, this should be one of your first stops. They have most things you could have asked for, and a unique but exquisite and large collection.
If come back to Tucson believe this will have to be where come to get my food items first, looking at the quality and nutrients, quality control for food at this store is quite strong. The ramen collection especially is where would stop first as it has a large chunk of the world's top quality ramen, thinking about missing out on the chance to have the ramen there again, next time Will not make the mistake of missing out on it.
The home items and furniture are also a number one for this world market as well, so many stuff that I just HAVE to have for my house, be prepared to be amazed because this place has it all figured out. Even if it's just a small gift you want like a mini water garden, this place has you fully covered, it's impossible to find something you don't want here.
Thank you...
Read moreI love shopping at World Market! This store has a large selection of unique décor, food, and more. I really like the interesting furniture they carry. I would probably outfit my entire home in World Market décor if I had the funds to do so. And the quality of what they carry is typically pretty good. I also really like looking at the food they have. My husband loves trying new snacks and World Market carries a lot of unique food items. I really like looking through the strange Lay's chip flavors they have. It is pretty expensive for a little bag of chips, but it is fun to try the different flavors. They also carry Aero chocolate bars, and they are my favorite! I don’t think I have found another store in Tucson that carries Aero chocolate so that is a big plus for World Market. This store also has a nice selection of imported beers and other drinks. I usually pick up a bottle of something up while I am there for my husband and me to try.
Some of their prices are a little steep but for the most part what they carry is affordable. The staff is also usually very friendly. If you are looking for unique gifts, décor, or snacks, check out...
