Alyssa’s Bridal single-handedly ruined my wedding dress buying experience. Not only did they order me the wrong dress in the wrong size, they ordered one of my bridesmaids two dresses and didn’t order my Maid of Honor her dress. Then had the audacity to tell her she had gotten fat since the first time she came in to choose her dress. Thankfully I had taken photos of my bridesmaids and MOH in the dresses they ordered when they ordered them. They straightened that out but it was unnecessary stress. One of the men tried to blame the error on one of my bridesmaids by saying someone called in their sizes and changed their dress. No one did. We all came in together and they had their measurements taken in shop. He just didn’t want to admit that they’d messed up.
Story Time for Wedding Dress: The first time I went in, I found my dress. It was beautiful and I was happy. I went to go pay and that was when they told me that it’s a +$250 charge for sizes 18+. I was a little annoyed but being a plus size person, I understood because that’s just how it is. They took my measurements in store. The receipt I was given said that I ordered a size 20. When the dress came in, it wasn’t even the dress that I ordered. My dress had cutouts under the arm that helped shape my torso. The dress I received did not have the cutouts and it was ordered in a size 18W. I looked it up online at Allure and due to the dress being newer than 2018, the difference between an 18W and 20 was almost two inches. They said we could either reorder the size 20 or alter the size 18W by adding the cutouts, which would let out the dress out a little around my ribs. If we reordered, we wouldnt have time to do the alterations. So I chose to do the alteration. Big mistake. The cutouts weren’t in the same sleek shape and the additional alterations to let the dress out were visibly noticeable. During my last fitting, my dress was still a little too tight (they had let it out about an inch) but at that point it was the week of my wedding and we didn’t have time to do much else. One of the men then told me not to feel bad about myself—“we all eat when it’s cold outside.” Basically calling me fat. At the end of the day, a dress that was supposed to cost me ~$1400 ended up costing me $2000+ after alterations and steaming. After all the hell that I went through with this shop, they didn’t offer a discount or even offer to steam the dress on the house. I strongly suggest against using Alyssa’s Bridal for wedding/bridesmaids dresses. In addition, they are not very...
Read moreMy sister and I are both getting married this Fall. We both decided to do our wedding dress shopping on the same day together. We made an appointment at Alyssa's. We were very disappointed in the service we received. When we walked in no one greeted us. We finally were noticed and explained we had an appointment to both try on dresses. They put us with one of the girls to help us. I personally came in specifically for a dress that was on their website. They didn't have it in stock. The girl just started at both me and my sister. Finally to help get the ball rolling, I said well since you don't have the dress can you help me us pick out similar dresses and styles we want. We followed her around to where the dresses were and she just stared at us. She didn't help pull anything. As most people know it's hard to tell the style of the dresses on the rack. I was hoping since, she worked there she would know what dresses were. She gave me one dress that was "similar" to the dress I liked. When we got the chance to put on our dresses, we were told that we had to share a dressing room, as the other rooms were occupied. I was annoyed because we had appointments and they knew ahead of time we would be coming. I am almost positive the 16 year old girls trying on prom dresses did not have appointments. We both tried on our first dresses and when we came out to show our mom, the lady helping us just stared at us. My dress was 3-4 sizes too big. She just looked at me. Finally my sister and mom grabbed the clamps and clamped the dress to fit my size. The lady helping us again just stared at us both giving us no feedback or help. We were both shocked in the lack of service that after we tried on 1 dress, we both changed back into our clothes and left. TO THE OWNERS OF ALYSSA'S you missed out on 2 weddings dresses along with accessories, our groomsmen, and the rest of the wedding party. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. We went to 2 other stores and were treated with great service. Both places pulled items and accessories to help make the dress our own. We were coming in today to buy and you missed out. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME GOING HERE. I can see where other people had the...
Read moreMy wedding dress shopping experience couldn’t have been more magical at Alyssa’s Bridal! I walked in on a whim with my family since I was visiting Tulsa over the holidays and I am recently engaged my family thought it would be fun to go wedding dress shopping together. My sister and I remembered buying prom dresses at Glitter Designs attached to Alyssa’s and thought it would be a fun and sweet full circle moment if I found the wedding dress there. My hopes weren’t high that I would find the dress on my first try, but my expectations were quickly blown away when I walked in and showed a kind woman named Penny my Pinterest board of my dream dress. She showed me a rack of dresses, none of them were quite right but then she went zigzagging through the dressing room and showed me the most perfect dress at an unbeatable price that she was about to put back on the floor- it was exactly what I was looking for, I was so impressed with Penny’s professionalism of finding my dream dress, what she found was much better than even the photos I showed her of what I thought my dream dress was. It had so many gorgeous details, we all cried when I put it on and it fit perfectly. Another lovely woman who worked there asked my mom to follow her and then they came back with a jaw dropping veil, the entire look took my breath away and I felt so beautiful and well taken care of by the entire staff. They were so complimentary and so kind, I felt comfortable and so happy throughout the visit. The next day, I had another dress try on at a fancy boutique wedding dress shop and none of the dresses measured up to the first one I tried on at Alyssa’s, not to mention, they were all 3x the price of the one I found at Alyssa’s. I ran back to Alyssa’s the next day and got my dream dress that Penny helped me find and my mom and sister gifted me the beautiful veil. I will treasure those memories forever, I cannot wait to wear the dress on my wedding day. I would recommend Alyssa’s bridal to anyone! (Will updated this post with a photo of the dress after...
