To end a long, full day of shopping for an office chair, I ended up at Staples in Turlock, which I’m sure enjoys its status as the only office supplies-dedicated box store in town, but does lie in between a Target and a Walmart which offer strict competition in certain categories but chairs aren’t really one of those areas of competition. I’ve been to this Staples before, and I love that employees there will often ask if you need help and then leave you alone for the rest of your visit once you decline assistance. Today, however, I was in need of assistance and the customer service desk directed me to a young man named Matt. Matt may only be 22, and that may explain why there’s still a twinkle in his eye and a dedication to serving the customer that is rare in the current landscape of entry-level employment. He truly is a credit to his generation, his field of employment, and more importantly his customer service team at this here store. A team which includes one particular young lady, who I saw performing an assortment of duties throughout the store to exemplary effect, but failed to look me anywhere near my face while I had asked for help, but she did point me to Matt, and for that her service was 10/10. I believe Matt will have a long future in sales, not just customer service, because he has the instincts and charisma of a seasoned professional who has perfected his craft. He was genuine, warm, and conversational and the only reason I walked out of that store with a chair and a chair mat this afternoon. He also helped me carry these...

Read morePrinting staff is so rude. The only one who is nice is Paul, he’s the best! But anytime it’s someone else they treat me like I’m an annoyance and don’t want to help me. I come here every once in a while to print papers for work, and I don’t like using the self use printers because it always leaves a weird line at the top of my papers, and the color is always off. Several times they’ve told me I have to print there, so I do, and then it comes out bad and they have to reprint it at the counter. To skip this issue, I usually just go straight to the counter. And they print it for me with no further issues. Today, a staff member told me I’d have to wait 20 minutes for a single page since I didn’t want to use the self use printers. I’ve never had so many issues at one place, it actually makes me so sad. Office Depot and other places don’t treat me like this, and it’s so frustrating to be treated this way constantly. They have lost a...
