My wife and I checked in and were told 30-35 minute wait. That turned into more than 1 hour. I received a text saying to wait for a server to seat us. We were then told to stand by a wall to and someone would be seating us. The waiting was packed, we kept on seeing other people getting attended before us. Then after about 20 minutes I noticed the 2 hostess talking amongs each other like saying what happened to them. I then asked him if we were next because everyone else had already been seated. They responded by saying, "there was a gltch in our system" we accidentally marked you guys as seates. They said we would be next, mind you they had seated a party of about 10 right before they told us this and more than an hour later. I was so upset i wanted to speak to a manager. I explained to him the situation not to get free food but to make sure his hostess paid a bit more attention. The shift manager said everyone gets attention here, I'm like then why didn't we get seated correctly and in order. He said there was no glitch in the system, I told him we had just been informed there was. Regardless, I told him that's all I wanted for this not to happen. I told him i didn't expect free food nor drinks nothing all I wanted was for the staff to pay more attention and to have us seated asap. No one ever apologized to us, on the other hand the manager looked at me like I'm about to kick you out because of what I was telling him. We were then finally seated. Our waitress on the other hand was very nice and would check on us here and there. It took almost 1 hour to get our food because the waitress said there was a party of 10 in front of us. If the manager would of made an attempt to help us out and make things a bit better for us he should of rushed our food first before the party of 10. Food was good and I was not going to leava tip but it was not our server's fault so I did leave her a tip. Not that it matters but we will definitely not go to Texas roadhouse in...
Read moreTexas Roadhouse is not usually a place I think I need to review, but since this is a new location, I'll leave this here.
Atmosphere- The atmosphere is typical for Texas Roadhouse. It can be loud with music and sometimes yelling and singing. If you're not interested in loud music and other noises, I've found that it is less intense early in the afternoon.
Service - I thought the service could have been better. It felt like it took a bit longer to get our food after ordering. It could be because they were out of bread and we had nothing to do while we waited for a fresh batch. It took a bit of time for refills although our server did check in often during our visit.
Food - Rolls, Prime rib, filet medallions, new york steak, ribs, chili, house salad, baked potato, kids mac and cheese. (Don't mind the extra onions)
Most of our food was good as expected for Texas Roadhouse. The majority of our food was hot, seasoned well, made as ordered (medium rare, etc). The kids mac and cheese was nothing spectacular but my daughter enjoyed it. It appeared to be premade and served to order. The new york looked small for 8 oz. For those who enjoy filet mignon, I recommend the filet medallions. While they are smaller cuts, you'll receive 9oz instead of the typical 8. In addition, it is served on a bed of rice with two other sides. You get more food for a lower price. I ordered the prime rib cooked to medium (I normally get medium rare), which may have been a mistake. It was a bit dry but still delicious.
My only complaint were the salad dressing, ribs and chili. The ranch dressing was thick and tasted a bit off (not spoiled but maybe too much or too little of an ingredient), the ribs were dry, old, and leathery. The chili was barely warm.
Overall, our experience was good and we would visit again. Just avoid the ribs if you don't want to be...
Read moreWe had dinner at the Texas Roadhouse for our daughters birthday. This was in the new restaurant in Turlock, Ca. Let me say before I start that I do not eat red meat for health reasons. I have no beef (ha!) with it, just can't eat it. Everyone else, the adults, had steak. They were all very happy with the dinner.
This restaurant is busy at times so you may have a wait but you can sign up on line for waiting list. The place is clean and has a cool western vibe.
The service was very good. This seems to be normal in central valley, in bay area the servers at restaurants tend to think you should praise the simplest of achievement. Seriously, these folks have a work ethic, Silicon Valley has an entitlement problem. The servers were polite, kept on top of things, and dealt with my wife, the OK, Original Karen, without going berserk and rage quitting. Shows professionalism.
Now for the sexist part, and this actually does add to the atmosphere. The workers are a good looking group. The ladies, sorry, I am a straight Navy guy, range from pretty to amazingly attractive. If you are a worker, are pleasant to be around, and have some brains it is hard not to succeed.
I would go back... If my wife isn't on some ban list. Seriously, the woman will order a pizza, change the sauce, toppings, and crust but not order the style that meets the description. I took her to the Santa Clara Fair, RIP fair, to a booth that sold ONE item, one flavor of the item, and one size. She still discussed why they didn't have flavor x, that she wanted two ounces less than the cup size, and stared at the dang one item menu for a minute saying "hmmm", people lining up behind her,...
