T.J. Maxx — Local services in Tysons

T.J. Maxx is one of my favorite stores. Their prices are superb and they have name brands. They have a good selection of all kinds of items: clothing (men’s, women’s, kids, baby) purses, shoes, jewelry, housewares, luggage, kitchen items, pet items, etc.

It’s the type of store that might not have “two” of an item, so if you see something you like, it’s a good idea to buy it because it might not be there the next day. You might need a little patience to look through everything, but it is worth it if you’re looking to save money.

Their jewelry prices are fabulous, sterling silver and they also have some precious stones and gold.

Men’s clothing, yes! What great deals, you just have to see it to believe it.

They have seasonal items throughout the year. I love their Christmas wrapping paper, it’s thicker than big box stores.

Some are skeptical about T.J. Maxx, but here is what I found out about how they are able to have deeper discounts on items. Regular department stores buy merchandise from name brands, but at the end of the season they can return their unsold items to the manufacturer and get a % back. At T.J. Maxx, T.J.’s buys the name brand items, but they can’t return items to the manufacturer if they don’t sell them, so the items are more discounted. I could be wrong, but this is what I read about their business model. Also T.J buys items that are “past season” so there are discounts in that situation.

Every city I visit, I’m always looking for a T.J. Maxx, “it’s never the same place twice” so I love to see what products other cities have at...

I wish I can give them zero Star .. … I don’t understand how they are running this business.. Jewlry department is the worst.. I waited 40 minutes to get helped patiently even the Management walked by and said someone will be here … which they didn’t told me I need to get a ticket from there machine to get the assistance you have to have a number .. but when the jewelry Associat came back she even saw me I was there alone waiting for assistance however I let the older lady who just came by go first and get whatever she wants to look at … and Jewlry Associat look at me several time but didn’t said anything so I assume she going to help me next … now after 25ish minutes more customers start gathering tht associates still helping tht lady who I let go first instead of me … after 30 minutes when she done helping that customer Jewlry Associat I don’t what you guys doing .. you guys need to take the numbers from this machine then I can only help you .. omg are you kidding why don’t you say so before everyone rush to the machine and got the number before me wow never going...

The manager was rude, and the store was a chaotic mess. The amount of disrespect the manager treated me with is simply unbecoming of a human being, much less a service representative.

I went to return an item I bought, and the manager said the tag for the item was incorrect (it was the correct tag), and essentially accused me of trying to commit fraud.

After being gaslit about the tag being incorrect, I asked what could be done and what information she could pull from the system to verify my purchase, regardless of the tag. She rudely dismissed me.

After going to another store, they kindly confirmed the tag was correct, and the barcodes may vary between stores. If the manager here was not so incompetent and quick to dismiss real customers, perhaps the store would not be such a pigstye of misplaced items and litter, and the manager would actually know something a manager should know!

I sincerely hope this store can fall under new management, as other Tjmaxx's I've been to in this area were very pleasant and great places to shop. Maybe one day, this store location...
