Let's just start this review out by stating that I'm a vegetarian. And I have been a vegetarian for over 20 years. So I basically roam the DMV looking for restaurants that have decent vegetarian options. Usually Pho restaurants have a couple of vegetarian items on the menu. So tonight my kids and I tried Pho 7 on Leesburg Pike.
My son who's not a vegetarian ordered the lemongrass chicken with rice special which comes also with some grilled shrimp. He thought it was pretty tasty. It would have been nice if it had some basil leaves but it did come with mint. Now my daughter and I ordered vegetarian summer rolls and two orders of lemongrass tofu. It was late in the evening, actually 15 before closing, but still they should not serve spring rolls with basil that is turning brown. Also, the iceberg lettuce was very bitter. So veggie summer rolls got a thumbs down, though the peanut sauce was very good. The lemon grass tofu was not the best I've had, but it was pretty good with a healthy portion of tofu. I would have liked some basil leaves and coriander, but it did come with fresh mint leaves. Now the biggest problem was with the sauce, I'm sure it contained fish sauce which is not desireable for vegetarians.
Now as for the prices..... Every item cost about twice what you would pay in Maryland. Our favorite Pho restaurant in Wheaton, Saigonese, charges 1/2 the $ and the food is better.
So this is not a stellar spot for vegetarians, it's pricey compared to other Pho restaurants, but if you are looking for beef Pho other people have given this restaurant good reviews.
Also the people who work there and the gentleman who I suspect was the owner are very friendly. They cheerfully made our orders even though it was shortly before their...

UPDATE: Had to drop a couple of stars. Original review is down below. Boy, I had high hopes for this place. We recently revisited, and it wasn't as good.
Broth is still tasty, but the meatballs are not what I expected in a meatball. They were like compacted head cheese, chewy and not good. Maybe that's what it's supposed to be?
The eye of round bowl had nowhere near the meat content as the flank I ordered previously. Very light and disappointing. As you can see from my prior review, the meat amount was a differentiator from the other blah pho joints.
There are a few booths with ripped up seats. Please fix, as they customer facing and it makes you wonder what else is being neglected.
And most of all, DON'T MOP THE FLOOR WITH BLEACH WHILE CUSTOMERS ARE STILL EATING, ESPECIALLY RIGHT NEXT TO THEIR TABLE!!
It took you less than 5 minutes to mop. Wait until all customers leave! That's what closing is for.
Original review: Tasty broth. Proper amount of meat. Good service, and takes...
Read morehad a very very awful check-out experience. One Asian waitress handed me the POS machine with the total amount and urging me to pay. I was requesting the break-down of the bills to make sure everything was charged correctly. She said not sure why i needed to see the break-down. I said it is common practice to see the break-downs. she said but it is NOT LAW right? I feel so offended by her response as i never saw any restaurants being like this. When i tried to argue, she grew bitterly scornful and left saying" I am not your waiter". Then a waiter came and apologized. But I felt offended again as when I was describing my anger to the waiter I noticed her laughing happily with another person at the front desk. She didn't feel sorry about her attitude and my feeling at all. I felt so so so sad about this experience. I would like the business owner to take my complaint seriously by refunding me the full amount and sending me over an official apology letters. This cannot be right when a customer is requesting the details of one bill, the waiters/waitress says oh it is...
