Edit 2025: I am sorry to say that their food is no longer very good. :/ I got the feeling that there was a change of ownership about a year ago, and I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and allow them to work out any kinks, so I kept ordering every week or two, and taste and quality of the food has varied drastically every time I have ordered. The garlic sauce hardly ever tastes the same any more. Some days it’s garlicy and yummy and some days it tastes so bland and hardly any garlic taste. Well finally last week I went and got my go-to shawarma chicken sandwich, and it was inedible I couldn’t even eat half of it. :((( it was so gross it had a weird lemon skunk aftertaste??? The chicken looked gray as opposed to the lovely yellow from the turmeric and other spices that usually make it so tasty. So disappointing. I have never not been able to finish my sandwich. Perhaps I will try ordering again in several months, but it’s just disappointing getting a different quality every single time I go. It feels like a gamble especially when money is tight right now.

Outstanding gyros. My go-tos are the classic gyro and the chicken shwarma gyro. Thanks to all your staff for the consistency. Please, please, please treat your staff well. They are doing a great job and I hope they stay forever because your sandwiches are consistently good. I can't say the same for other gyro joints around here. At other places, I have had squishy grainy tomatoes and soggy pita bread. Yuck. Not here. I know I'm getting great quality ingredients and outstanding flavor every time I come here. Those are the main things that keep me coming back....

Gyro Zone in University Place is a culinary gem that undoubtedly deserves a solid 5-star rating. From the moment I set foot in this restaurant, I was treated to an exceptional dining experience that left a lasting impression.

The standout dish that stole the show for me was the Chicken Shawarma. The flavors were absolutely amazing, with tender, well-seasoned chicken that's a burst of savory delight in every bite. The perfect blend of spices and preparation methods made this dish a true culinary masterpiece. It's a must-try for anyone visiting Gyro Zone.

Beyond the delectable food, the staff at Gyro Zone is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Their warm and attentive service enhances the overall dining experience. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a regular, you'll be greeted with a smile and a genuine desire to ensure you have a delightful time.

In conclusion, Gyro Zone is a must-visit spot for anyone in University Place or those passing through. The Chicken Shawarma alone is worth the trip, and the friendly staff adds a welcoming touch that makes the dining experience memorable. Gyro Zone's commitment to exceptional food and service makes it a standout restaurant, and I can't recommend it enough. Personally, I think this place is slightly overrated. After hearing rave reviews from friends and coworkers, I finally decided to give the place a shot. And I was disappointed.

While the food is tasty, it is by no means the best gyro I've had. Better than Arby's by a long shot, but worse than many of the places between Tacoma and Seattle. I was expecting better for the price.

That being said, the super gyro is fairly priced. The large gyro fries, however... see picture included. I cannot see how they justify a $16.99 price tag on very little gyro meat, some feta, and tzatziki over a bed of maybe 1 decent russet potato worth of fries. If you go through old pictures, this used to not be the case. Maybe if they were the best fries I ever had, it might be justified, but they weren't. Not even close.

Besides actual food, going in to pick up my order was fast enough. While not rude, I don't think they were the most friendly or welcoming. The atmosphere was also... quiet. You couldn't even hear people eating, despite it being pretty full. It was eerie.

So while I was disappointed, it could easily have been an off day. Maybe they made the order wrong. So I'll give them a second chance in the future. If that goes well, I'll come back and edit...

Such great food. Suer gyro is the best, it's worth the usually short wait. Greek salad is amazing.
