For a while now, I have come back to visit this location many times without any problems to look at the Jellycat selection and holiday items. Since I found my favorite Jellycat here, I like to pop in every so often to see the lineup and if I find anything that has been on my wishlist. I came in with my partner yesterday to do just that, and after only a few minutes of entering the store and browsing the selection, we were confronted by an employee to "leave the store if we aren't going to buy anything" and that they are "telling this to everyone" since they've been experiencing a rise in theft. The employee also made a point to mention our age by calling us "you kids" and was overall alluding to the fact that because we are younger (we are in our early 20's if that matters) we might have the intention of stealing. My partner and I both work retail and understand the growing issue of theft and how it can affect a business. The employee made an effort to let us know that they've been out $1700+ in theft and while we sympathize with that, we also believe it is very unprofessional and disrespectful to single out customers and assume they are going to steal based on their appearance. I believe the employees here should receive better training on how to properly handle theft within the store and utilize loss-prevention tools such as locked display shelves or loss management tags to help decrease the theft issue instead of making it the problem of innocent customers. I think the employees would also benefit from going through more diversity, equity, and inclusion training, since my partner and I were clearly profiled here. As someone who has frequented this location often with positive experiences, this situation was very surprising and leaves me and my partner feeling incredibly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI placed an online order on January 2nd, 2023 to be shipped to the store. On January 6th I got an email saying it was ready for pick up at the store. I went in that same day and was handed someone elseās package after giving the lady my name twice. Went back in once I realized it wasnāt mine and was then told they didnāt have it and to come back. A few days later I called to see if they had my package and they still did not have it in the store. This happened a few more times in January. I asked to be called by the store when it arrived. The lady said she would. I was never contacted. Life happened and I forgot about it for the month of February. Went in on March first and was told they had put it back on the floor without contacting me or giving me a refund. So disorganized itās not even funny. I will not be back nor will I have anything shipped to that...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTalk about a bait and switch, came in for the free monthly card. Cashier didnāt ring the coupon in correctly, and I had to pay for tax (on a free item!) When I asked about the fee, the older lady assisting at the register snapped at me, saying they donāt pay the tax. Sales taxes are based upon the items value, so when the value is reduced to $0.00 - 10.3% of 0 is still 0. Why would you collect taxes on an item that technically is free?
Additionally, the store was littered with boxes and they refused to open the one box I was interested in while several other older members were helped finding their ornament from the back stock, and having boxes opened for them. This store consistently seems to have an issue being respectful to younger customers, and never seems to greet those of us under 50 with a...
