King of Prussia Travel Plaza — Local services in Upper Merion Township

if I could give them zero stars I would. Stopped in around midnight on my way home on a twelve hour drive to get a snack and a blanket, the cashier suriender(not sure that’s spelled correctly) told me my total and so I inserted my card and he told me it did not go through so I handed him cash and he had to use a calculator to figure out my change. I then went back to my car and checked my phone to find out my card did go through so I went back inside and explained that I paid twice for something and he informed me that I never gave him cash although customers in the store watched me do it and so I asked him to pull his drawer and count it because if he did it would be over money and he told me he was not giving me anything and that I needed to come back in the morning so I informed him I was driving ten hours to Ohio and was not able to return in the morning and he told me I did not give him cash and he was not doing anything for me even though there were other customers telling him that they watched me hand him cash. Don’t go here or you’ll get ripped out of money or...

I usually don't mind stopping here. This visit was just... blah. And since I'm complaining I'll start with the woman's rest room being on the far side of the building from the truckers entrance. Guess cuz they think there isn't enough of us. Something to consider would be how easy it isn't for a woman to receive herself as opposed to the guys who, if they have to go bad enough they just stand by their deck plate and no one's the wiser except for us truckers. This time stopping Herr was the absolute longest and most excruciating walk I've ever had to do, lol. Then waited a BK for almost ½hour for my meal. Why? 2 people on shift. And the one taking orders didn't dare leave that register?? Unbelievable. This pandemic really ruined everything for the supposed backbone...

Minimal food options.... they were closed and or machinery waiting on repair.

Only Burger King and 7-11 were open. With the place appearing dead, we were not willing to trust the age of 7-11's sandwiches in their case.

Family bathroom door would not shut easily, making us fearful we'd get stuck inside!

Car was parked blocking Diesel fuel pump for 15 minutes... we had to do tricky maneuvers to access the only other Diesel for smaller vehicles, thanks to no supervision at the pump area.

We were sorry we stopped here.

Other PA Turnpike Rest Areas are sooo much nicer and better run with travelers in mind.
