About a year ago, my family and I stopped at the King of Prussia mall on our way to New York. My mother being the crazy Filipino she is, was intrigued by the store as we walked through the mall. My mom loves anything spicy. She begged for all of us to go inside. We did, and let me tell you, that decision led to the craziest day of my life. My mom spent about a couple minutes looking at the sauces while my step-dad talked to the young man working. My mom picked up bottles of sauce while asking questions on how spicy each one was. She then asked, "what is the hottest sauce you have?" The man picks up a random bottle and says we can try it, but we have to sign a waiver. He proceeded to say that trying this sauce was a part of a challenge, and if we went through with it, he would give us ice cream coupons from Cold Stone. He also said that if we tried the sauce, we had to wait a minute until we could eat or drink anything in order to get the coupons. My step-father and my mother agreed quickly, and they began to peer-pressure my brother into trying it as well. After like 2 minutes of convincing, my brother finally agreed to try the sauce. The worker dude put like two drops of the sauce into the tiniest spoon I have ever seen and handed it to my family. They all tried it, and they seemed fine. We ended up walking out of the store after the minute we had to wait. A bit later, my mom and my brother began to complain about feeling sick. My step-dad was completely fine, but my mom was literally on the floor. She sat down on a small set of stairs and cried while my brother was in the bathroom for A WHOLE HOUR. My sister began to record my weeping mother, and my father just stood there and ate a bagel, asking my mom if she wanted some. She begged us to take her to the hospital because of the pain the endured. My step-dad refused, saying she would be fine, while my brother was still in the bathroom, probably blowing the toilets up. After my mom sat for 40 minutes on the ground, she got up. My dad went to go check on my brother. My brother came back 20 minutes later. All in all, don't try the hot sauce at this place, it will make your mother cry and your older brother stink up the bathrooms around the food court, or just the food court in general. P.S. my mom is still super pissed she didn't buy anything, and the coupon was only for 10%...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI want to preface this by saying that this place is overall great. I know thatās confusing with a 1 star. But the people here severely undersell how spicy the Flatline sauce is. I was told it would dissipate in 2-3 minutes on its own. 24 hours later & Iām still sweaty, sore throat, with a spice in my mouth. Now, Iām not saying donāt try it. They give you a tiny amount & have you sign a waiver. But that waiver isnāt accompanied by informed presentation of the sauce. It is, quite literally, spicier than pepper spray.
Iām all in favor of pushing our limits, and I personally think I wouldāve done it anyway. This is not a critique of the sauce itself or the ability to try it, but you do need to coach your employees to be upfront with people about potential side effects and how long they can last. Your employees downplaying the effects of this sauce is a huge liability to your business. No matter what waiver people sign, if you lie about what theyāre signing, it does not hold up. That isnāt me saying Iām gonna go sue now LOL, just that someone absolutely could regardless of any waiver. Which is a shame, since yāall make...

I order four bottles of Chocolate Habanero sauce (the world's best!) and they never showed for Christmas. Looks like the USPS did them quite a disservice and the folks at Pepper Palace gave me a full refund.
Well, the boxes just arrived (a month late) and I asked PP what they wanted me to do with their bottles. They told me to keep them! I'm overwhelmed by their generosity and professionalism. What a great ending to the story! I will be sharing--not just the bottles with friends and family, but the story as well. Even though the USPS really dropped the ball this Christmas season, with customer service like theirs, they will continue to be very successful.
Thank you, Pepper Palace, for taking such good care of my concerns...you have a...
