UPDATED
Initially, I hesitated to write a review because I wanted to focus on enjoying my son's birthday weekend. However, after discussing the experience with my sons, I feel it’s necessary to speak up. We booked the playground escape room for a party of five, aware that it could hold up to twelve, and we were prepared to work with strangers.
Upon checking in, we were informed that we would be joined by additional customers. When the group of four women arrived, it was clear that they were less than pleased to be paired with us. Their visible annoyance escalated to the point where the staff member, Parker, asked if they wanted to find another game. One of the women even remarked that had she known it wasn’t a private room, she wouldn’t have booked it. This behavior was completely off-putting and disheartening for my family, as we were there to celebrate.
While we tried to ignore their rude comments, Parker eventually pulled them aside to reassure them that they could switch games, suggesting that their discomfort was being prioritized over ours. In contrast, my family and I were not offered the same courtesy. I had to explicitly point out the clear discomfort from the other group before Parker offered us a refund, which was unacceptable. A refund doesn’t address the inconvenience for us, just like it wouldn’t for the women in the other group who weren’t local either.
We proceeded to join the game and did our best to enjoy ourselves, despite moments of tension. Towards the end, my son solved a puzzle, only to have two women push him aside and take over. This was completely unacceptable and caused him to disengage from the game, which is not what we came for.
The final straw came after we escaped the room. When the host asked if we wanted a picture, the two women openly declared, “Absolutely not. I don't want a picture with them,” right in front of my children. This kind of behavior is intolerable.
It’s clear that white women are being catered to and given preferential treatment based solely on their appearance, even when they act rudely and entitled. We made the best of a difficult situation, but it’s evident that we will not be returning.
*UPDATE: Following my review, I received a call from Stephen, and I must express my heartfelt gratitude for how he approached the situation. His attentiveness and compassion truly made a difference, as he never made me feel like my family’s experience was anything less than important. I’m so appreciative of how they addressed the issues we faced and took the necessary steps to make things right for us. It means a lot to know that we were...

We came back for a private experience and we were immediately joyfully greeted by Nick whose enthusiasm was beyond incredible. He got us so amped for the game and it was so refreshing to see someone so excited at their job!
Bodhi was our game master who was equally as warm and inviting! He separated us for the beginning of Prison Break and it was SO fun! He was an incredible helper towards the end when we panicked and needed a few extra hints because we didn’t want to lose! He offered to take photos and for us to explore the rooms a bit more and to chat through the experience.
25/10 recommend coming here for a private experience - we will definitely be back to explore Gold Rush, per Nicks suggestion!
UPDATE - I just had the extreme pleasure of talking with Parker who lovingly called me and addressed all of my concerns and went above and beyond to make my complaints seen, heard and rectified. We will be back to try another room - but private this time ◡̈
We came ready to pull off the ultimate art heist, but the only thing that got taken was our time, our money, and any hope of having fun.
It was a challenge to find since we were already in the mall and we didn’t know we’d have to adventure outside. Once finally finding the spot, the front desk experience wasn’t anything special — just a bored teenager who didn’t seem too thrilled to be there.
The escape room itself felt pretty dated, like it hadn’t been refreshed in a while. When you’re paying for a "heist" experience, you hope for a little more immersion and a little less worn-out props. And unfortunately, the biggest twist of the experience wasn’t even part of the storyline — they allowed latecomers to join well after the game had started. These new players weren’t exactly team material either; they asked for hints almost immediately without even trying to solve anything first, which completely killed the challenge and momentum for the rest of us. They also were only working together and I had been bumped out of the way multiple times.
Instead of feeling like we were cracking a thrilling case together, it just felt frustrating and disjointed. Honestly, the biggest mystery we left with was why anyone thought that setup made for a...
Read moreEscape Rooms are a family favorite activity of ours! This was our first time at The Escape Game King of Prussia and the detail to the set, props and puzzles were of the best we had experienced! This was our first escape room we were unsuccessful at completing but due to the level of intricacy I am not surprised.
One thing I would note is that it is very clear on the site that you will be partnered with other groups if you do not purchase all 8 slots or call in advance to discuss...I missed that fact until after the tickets were purchased and while the two people we were paired up with were super nice, we do prefer to do as a family and with friends we know since we know each other's strengths and weaknesses and how to communicate more effectively with people we know. (Can you tell we are a competitive crew? Lol) So if this is a deal breaker for you to be paired with other groups just be mindful of that fact so you can either purchase all 8 slots or call to see if they accommodate any other way.
Parker was our game assistant and she was incredible! From the moment she met us in the lobby until after she finished taking group photos and walked us back to the lobby after we were done she was completely attentive to our needs, offering hints when we were about to make a mistake that could hinder the continuation of the game showing she was watching us intently as we played. I hope she got some good laughs as one person literally was blowing through a pipe and we focused way too hard on clues that weren't even there (won't give more detail so as not to spill anyone's experience). Thank you again, Parker, for being absolutely incredible! We will certainly be back to take on the...
