The Cheesecake Factory — Restaurant in Upper Merion Township

Debated on leaving a review for the past few hours but this is not the Cheesecake Factory service I’m accustomed to. Any location I have dined at, I have always had a 5 star experience. This was the first time I have visited the King of Prussia location which is about an hour away from where I live. Went in on a Monday night and we noticed seats at the bar which is where we discussed sitting prior to arrival. Brooke was the bartender and appeared pretty busy however we got menus/drinks pretty quickly. Put our appetizer in (Poke Nachos) and it took me a little longer to order my entree as everything looked pretty amazing. Our appetizer was fantastic when we were not fighting off the fruit flies trying to dine and dash on our dish. So far so good! When we got our entrees we were patient knowing the bartender was busy and when she stepped away from the service well to check on us, we asked if we could get some bread since we didn’t get any after we ordered food. She agreed and we waited and waited. After a while my boyfriend asked if we could get the bread and some hot sauce and she stated she put the order in and it was given to the guy next to us. She said he (the other guest) is not eating so that is your basket which the guest next to us already touched since it was in front of him. We asked if we could get fresh bread since it was sat in front of him and she argued with my boyfriend that it was our bread! Ok I tried to diffuse the situation and said that we know she is busy and we can wait. She then said nothing, walked away and went to the service well, finished her bar tickets left the bar and went to the back assuming she went to get us bread. Nope she came back said nothing to us just walked by not even offering a refill on my empty iced tea or another drink for my boyfriend. Ok no problem we heard the server behind us tell her table that they are making fresh bread, ok cool, Brooke could of said that. However still having a great time!. By this time I wasn’t going to say my order was wrong and I barely touched any of it. The shrimp was supposed to be fried but was grilled and my pasta was dry. A few minutes later a female manager came to us and asked us what the problem was? My boyfriend said he just didn’t feel comfortable eating bread that was given to another guest and just asked for an untouched basket. I lost my appetite at this point because why were we asked that? She then asked what was wrong with my dish and I said I didn’t complain about it but she can just take it as I no longer wanted anything at this point. Jason came out about an hour after our arrival apologized and offered us dessert which we politely declined. 5 stars for Jason’s professionalism! He seems as though he would be an awesome manager! I have been in the service industry for 32 years as a server, bartender and currently a manager as well as my boyfriend who was dining with me, I have never sent a meal back regardless if I didn’t like it or asked for a manager. So this was the first time I went to the cheese cake factory and never again will I go here first off we was in line to be seated and the hosts skipped us even tho she clearly saw us and gave the ppl behind us a table then didn’t even ask if we are waiting for anything had to let her know we need a seat so after that got seated and waited 20 minutes for a server name Katherine well let me tell you about this waitress the worse person I have even been waited on by she didn’t speak to my husband at all every time he say anything to her she straight ignored him he was ordered are drinks very rudely she said what do you want! We then order appetizer when she bring them we still didn’t have any drinks at all even tho we put are drink order first they way she ignored my husband and was so rude it came pretty racist After that happen we try to let it go as the night went one we order soft drink she bring me the nasty drink I have ever had the machine was out of sprite and it was horrible tasting asked for a new drink. She gave a attitude about it and said what’s wrong with it after theft happen she rudely put the new drink down and walk away. After that we wait about another 50 minutes for a food witch was cold she bring my husband his food as well as mine and we didn’t take her for the rest of the time no check in drink empty no how it nothing every time my husband spoke to her, she ignored him. He said thank you she walked away. He asked for something she didn’t say anything this is the worst service I’ve ever had to be treated like this in a public place racism is a real thing at this place. I will never go back here again. They lady Katherine should be ashamed of herself for how she treated him and myself oh I forgot and then she brings us. The bill walks away for a second comes back and it’s like are you gonna pay that? Like what yes we are going to pay what cuz we are not white we not going to paid this is the worse thing I have ever experienced I will never spend my money at this place again!!!!!!! I’m sure no one cares know people need to know how it really is at this place she was super friendly to all the white people that was next to us going to came to us very standoffish super rude and just downright racist!...

Everything was excellent. 7 of us and not one issue. (Music is still too loud, people are there to eat, drink, and chat, not hear a concert).

Food was VERY good tonight.

Appetizers; mac & cheese bits, pretzel bites. So good.

Drinks; soda, chocolate milkshake (excellent), peach alcohol drink (very tasty), wisky sours, water, and iced tea. All good. (The server kept the water coming and she didn't spill a drop as she filled cups).

Meals; Cajon Salmon with sides, bacon cheese burger, smash burger, flat bread pizza, Asian trio salad (omgsh my favorite), chicken dish with rice. All excellent, cooked perfectly - NO complaints. If the plate was hot, she told us right away and put the plate down for us (yes most servers do this, just commenting she did too).

Atmosphere; again the music to too loud each time we come. Hard to hear each other talk. Really not necessary. It's dinner, not a concert. Background music is better. And it's 4th of July so not packed

Server; WOW, our server's name is Wei. Omgsh, she is absolutely one of the best servers we have ever had from any restaurant. CF has a huge asset with Wei. She is so genuine, kind, sweet, listens to each person, repeats what they say so you know she heard you (with the loud music), excellent smile. Just a good, down-to-earth, genuine, hard-working woman. Even my sons, mid to late 20s commented on how good and nice she was. Always checked in on us. Cleared plates to give us room each time she walked by. With a table of 7, it was crowded. Thanks to Wei, we had room. When it came time to ask for boxes for leftovers, she said she would bring them but wanted to clear plates. Then she told us, she's clearing and making some space so we had room for the takeout containers and room to put our food in them. Just so thoughtful and thinks ahead.

My Mom thought she had a coupon. Wei came back and apologized that there wasn't any, she even confirmed my mom's name letting Mom know she looked at the right account in her computer.

VERY GOOD AT HER JOB. Outstanding job.

(We've been to this restaurant before and we've never had Wei as a server. I would ask for her next time).
