DO NOT STAY HERE. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE LITERALLY 7 MINUTES AWAY THAT'S MORE UP TO DATE AND CHEAPER. THIS HOTEL IS DIRTY, TOOK OVER AN HOUR TO GET RESERVED ROOM, EXTREMELY OUTDATED. One star is still too good for this place. Firstly, we arrived at 3pm to check in and get told that the room is still being cleaned, which is fine, but told that we would just need to get back in line to check because they won't be following up. We check again at 3:30pm, and get told they are still cleaning. We let them know that we have a concert to go to and are on a pretty strict schedule, but get told to check back. We check back at 3:45pm, and get told they are still cleaning. We asked if we were getting comped for the lateness and get told that rooms are only reserved for 3pm but no guarantee that they are ready at that time. However we are paying for that time and we get charged if we leave late, but nothing if they don't have the room ready by check in. We heard an employee come up and complain that we had checked back again and we again let them know we were on a strict time line. Oddly enough they just said leave the bags in the lobby and go to the concert. That's nonsense. Leave for who to watch and we wouldn't be back until very late. So at 4pm, we check and they said apparently the fire alarm was beeping and they fixed it and the housekeeping was doing their final check. We would have canceled the reservation were it up to me and go to the Alloy hotel 7 minutes down the road but again they wasted this much of our time and we were on a tight schedule and my husband cautioned that it would take longer to cancel and they'd waste our time with refunding us if they wouldn't even comp us for the hour.
MIND YOU WE RESERVED THE GRAND MASTER ROOM, NEARLY 300 FOR THE NIGHT, APPARENTLY THEIR BEST SUITE.
We get into the room at 4:15pm. We can tell that they must've done something to the alarm because the ceiling debris was on the carpet and furniture. So what exactly were the housekeeping checking? There was hair on the toilet under the lid and on the side of the toilet. There was a large hole in the carpet, the furniture was dirty, dusty and torn. Finger and grease prints on the walls, the furniture was scratched and badly dated. The carpets were tired and dirty. There was hard water stains in the shower. THE TOILET SEAT WAS NOT EVEN ON STRAIGHT. I was happy I brought my own blankets because at that point I questioned their cleanliness standard. This place was the proverbial slum lord white paint in an overpriced run down apartment. Nothing in this place felt clean. The bathroom is small, no counter space because the sink is over a carpet and tiny, the bath is stuck in the middle of the room, oddly.
And at the end as we were checking out, front desk person didn't ask us how our stay was or even a good bye as we dropped off the key card. Never had a more horrible stay. 0/10 could not recommend less. Just avoid this place all together, if their best room is that bad I can't...
Read moreI stayed here from Sunday through Thursday. I arrived about 12:00 am on Sunday night and the lady at the reception desk (Victoria) was very polite and personable and made sure to tell me about the hotel amenities, surrounding eateries and activities. The room was nice and spacious and had a really open feeling with a comfortable couch and good sized desk and chair. The place was a little outdated but seemed quaint. The breakfast was pretty good and they had a variety of stuff from breakfast tacos, bacon, sausage, yogurt, cottage cheese, fruit, a weird berry fruit cocktail that looked like it had been cooked for topping on French bread or yogurt, cereal, only scrambled eggs, some roasted potatoe mixture (peppers, onions, spices) Cinnamon raisin & regular toast, English muffins, bagels, with Starbucks coffee (several flavors) and orange and apple juice. They cleaned the room everyday including the day I put up the come-back later sign. I came back that day to find it on the counter inside the room and my room cleaned. They empty the trash, make the bed, and take the towels. I had anywhere from 1-3 towels each day even though I left my towel hanging on the hook next to a sign that says we are trying to conserve water please leave your towel hanging if you wish us not to take it. I also find this humorous because the first day I arrived there was a dirty towel hanging from the back of the door. Thankfully the sheets looked clean otherwise huge deal breaker. The last day I was there they left a bottle of cleaning solution that they must traded to me for the snacks on the counter because those were also gone. Fortunately, my stuff was never gone through (I donât leave valuables anyways) and put my suit case in the closet with the zipper set in a just a certain place using my finger as a ruler. I also do the same to the closet door. Just enough that it looks closed but it not (Yes, I know the closet door could be moved for various reasons hence why there were other barriers not mentioned as they are trade secrets). There is not a microwave to anywhere in this hotel, not in the rooms, breakfast area, pool area, or fitness center. I had a steak left over that I was very much interested in steak and eggs for breakfast. The day before I checked out and the last straw for me was I came back from a long day to find my key cards donât work. I kept one in the wallet and one in the envelope in my backpack in a pocket all by itself and both did not work. When I went to the counter to get my cards re-keyed. I asked why this happened the guy at reception desk said that they lose their coding if you keep it too close to credit cards. When I explained how I stored my second card. He had no further explanation. So yep, my fault that my key cards didnât work even though I wasnât the only there getting key cards fixed. It has a pool and hot Tub but the pool was pretty cloudy and murky and the hot tub had sulfuric metallic smell. My recommendation is find...
Read moreTo begin, the Hyatt House at King of Prussia is a pretty good place. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean, and the free amenities like wifi and parking are great. The location is also good. If I was just going to rate this hotel from a general perspective, I think 4 stars would be more accurate.
However, this review is from staying in thier most expensive suite (the one with the large tub in the bedroom). This suite is disappointing in several ways that low the score. While the room is also fairly clean and of a nice, large size, their are some cons I think people should be aware of. I am speaking from experience having spent time in this suite on a few occasions:
Tub cleanliness - the large tub in the master bedroom is great, but on two occassions it was not cleaned very well (hairs remained - yuck!).
The large TV in the living room is AWFUL. The TV is extremely dim-- you can barley see it! Even with all lights out it is pretty much unusable. You can not adjust it at all either. Also, you can NOT connect anything to the TV, so forget watching your own movies or hooking up a game console (you CAN hook things up to the bedroom TV at least). You can't do anything with this TV. Junk. I've been in different rooms of this suite and each has been the same.
The kitchen is not usable for cooking. There is no stovetop or oven in the suite. I am guessing they assume you will eat out. Specifically, the refrigerator is TINY and won't hold very much at all. It is also awkwardly shaped, so good luck getting your stuff to fit in there without tilting it on its side.
The large living room ottoman is advertised on thier website and it was cool. This last time I have stayed here it was not in the room. The room I have now has a much smaller ottoman that advertised. I'm not sure if it is just this room or they replaced them all since my last stay. Either way, don't count on it being in your room. False advertisement.
Heating/Cooling. Smaller point, but the thermostat is in the kitchen area, but most of the HVAC seems to blow out into the bedroom - so if you close the door it can get very hot or cold in the bedroom as the thermostat may be working very hard to reach a specific temperature in the kitchen area. Bad HVAC design.
In conclusion, if the above things do not matter to you, the room will be just great, but for being thier "premiere" room (and priced as such) at this hotel, it needs to be held to a higher standard and the hotel should also see it this way and fix these...
