White House Black Market — Local services in Upper Saucon

I came to this WHBM location on April 24 around 4:00 PM to look for a graduation dress. Despite being the only customers in the store, my boyfriend and I were ignored by the women that were all crowded around the front desk. They did not greet us or ask me if I needed any help; They looked at my boyfriend and me and continued talking to each other. After looking around the store, other customers came in. They were greeted and offered assistance. Why was I treated differently? After heading towards the dressing room with dresses in my hand, I was finally offered help. One woman started a dressing room for me. I asked her why only now I was receiving any help. Suddenly, I was offered help from all of the employees. One woman asked me if I was looking for anything in particular, one offered to provide me with shoes to try on, and another asked me for my dress size and then quickly provided me with some dresses that were not appropriate for graduation and would not look flattering on my body. Perhaps it was my age or the way that I was dressed that all of the employees thought it would be a waste of their time to help me. I came to the store intending to purchase a dress. I left disgusted by the lack of attention I received and the way I was treated by all the women that work there. I went to Loft and was immediately greeted by the kind employees. Horribly aggressive staff! I felt so uncomfortable. From the second I walked in I was assaulted by staff asking me constantly to help, about sales, and trying to shove products at me. Everything I touched they would try to upsell me on this or that. I would say ‘no thank you, I just wanna browse’ walk away and they would follow and keep going! It wasn’t friendly, it was aggressive. They gave me a dressing room and then put clothes in there I didn’t pick. When I put it outside of my room they tried to put it back in! And of course the clothes they added was the most expensive things.I was stunned how much ‘no’ meant nothing to the staff, I couldn’t say it enough times to them. A sales associate tried to talk to me the whole time I was getting changed. It was nuts. I was finally left alone when I got angry with one after telling her ‘no thank you’ over 4 times in a row when I told her ‘please just leave me alone’ who then sulked off to talk about me with manager. I absolutely adore this store! Describe it in one word, “Classy.” If you need women’s casual, business, or semi formal clothing at a reasonable price look no further. The staff could not be friendlier, and make it their job to help you find what ever occasion you are trying to dress for. I shop here for all of my work clothes, and one wedding so far. I despise shopping and these associates make me feel, like I was worth a new work wardrobe that I desperately needed. Now the store is a bit on the small side, but not so small that it’s suffocating. It’s not overdressed (pun intended) with an overwhelming amount clothes, that you’ll never see the end of, or miss something that might have been the perfect item. New styles come in all the time.
