I ordered some furniture for my new apartment, which included a bed set, a mattress, a desk and a working chair. The actual furniture, to some extent, was fine. What was not fine is what followed from there.
First, the actual day of the delivery, my furniture was delivered outside of the normally large delivery timeframe they give you (about 3 hours), by about 1.5 hours. Additionally, as a result of this mismanagement by Raymour, when my furniture was being put together, some nails or screws ended up on the floor (!) in the dark, as I later found out. Thankfully I did not end up getting hurt by this and I didn't raise an issue because I didn't want to trouble the movers who were clearly overworked.
Additionally, the office chair I had bought for $300 broke immediately within 2 hours of usage. As I work from home, this was a serious problem! I contacted Raymour and Flanigan about this issue the following day and they played a dodgeball game of responsibility with me which ended up scheduling a repair job 20 days (20 days!) after my phone call. Again, I did not raise an issue with this because I didn't want to go through the trouble. Instead, I bought a $100 chair at Target that I put together that actually works.
Then, on the day of my repair, I was given another 3 hour timeframe but in addition to that, I was also given a map from my email. I checked the map and it indicated a delivery time that was 1.5 hours later, so I left my apartment for a short 30 minute trip to the store. They arrived 10 minutes later then promptly left 10 minutes after that. Upon refreshing the map, it was clear that the tracker was NOT turned on by the delivery person (it never moved). I called complaining of the majority of the previous issues and they schedule a replacement for 3 days later.
Now, 3 days later, I received a notice through phone from them that they already came and tried to find me at my apartment (and left again, as well). They did not. I have been sitting in my front room with the windows open next to the door at my desk the entire time. The phone I left in the other room was given a single phone call before they abandoned the delivery.
A $300 chair is not worth this much of a problem. The service is atrocious. I will never shop at Raymour and Flanigan again and I insist that anyone reading this should...
Read moreWhen I downsized from a king sized mattress to a queen, my troubles began with excruciating lower back pain. I ordered a very good mattress from a reputable company but had to send it back because it was too hard. I’m only 115 lbs. and even though it was cushioned on top, I didn’t weigh enough for it to relieve any pressure points and the pain in my lower back got worse. I then did more mattress searching and opted for an organic latex mattress which again, was expensive. I couldn’t get comfortable even with numerous toppers. After 1 year, the mattress indented like a hammock. I was in so much pain that once I got into bed, I couldn’t move and when I fell asleep, my back pain woke me up. I researched more mattresses and came upon the Aireloom brand which I never heard of. I read that it was well made and a luxury brand mattress. I found out that Raymour & Flanigan sold these. Maya, the sales person who sold me my living room furniture in 2017 was still there and she helped me pick out the perfect mattress. She was so extremely knowledgable about all of the mattresses and took her time explaining things snd answeing my questions. She was not pushy at all. I ended up choosing the Aireloom Capella Plush. Maya also explained the break in period of a mattress. I also purchased the mattress protector, a sheet set and two Casper Original pillows.
The first night sleeping on my new Aireloom was fantastic. No matter what position I turned, I was COMPLETELY comfortable and like magic, my back pain was gone. The only problem I had was that when morning came, I didn’t want to get out of bed! It was an expensive purchase but so worth it. Not only is is comfortable, it’s so well made, soft to the touch and quite pretty even though it’s totally covered up with my sheets and comforter.
Such a wonderful experience at Raymour & Flanigan with Maya. Thank you for helping me choose the perfect mattress and all your expertise....
Read moreHi,
Gonna keep this short. We had trouble with receiving the financing information and called the store. We just wanted to find our account number and make a payment. The saleswomen refused to provide any assistance and hung up on my partner. My partner wrote a review and it looks like Raymour removed the negative review. I’ll go somewhere else for overpriced furniture next time. Hopefully you see this before they remove more negative reviews of this store.
Edit:
Doesn't appear that I can respond to the "owners" comment and I'm not really interested in a private conversation with a corporate account. Very much feels like an effort to further hide a bad experience from folks reading the reviews. I'll provide my feedback here:
Improve the customer experience regarding financing options. From what I can tell Raymor ships the financing off to TD Bank after you walk out the door and throws their hands up once you walk out the door. Its all sunshine and rainbows until you're inked to the deal and leave, then they treat you like garbage.
Improve Customer Relations at this location specifically. Theres no reason to hang up on a customer who is just trying to pay your bill. I'm not going to name drop the rep who did this, but its just bad business. We were not being rude or unreasonable, the rep was simply unprofessional, full stop.
Don't hide negative feedback, Improve your methods and customer experience. Theres no reason to delete a negative review or funnel conversations into a private forum. It very much comes off as scummy cooperate behavior to me. Further, it just shows that you want to yes someone off the phone and make "the problem" go away instead of putting in the effort to improve your product.
Doubt this feedback will get to anyone who will do anything purposeful with it, but at the least I hope this is a warning to anyone who is cautious...
