I found this place from Cheesesteaks Uncensored Facebook group, and I'm glad I did. The food is outstanding. I initially came here for the cheesesteak, and it didn't disappoint. It's actual fresh sliced steak, and it's very good. They go heavy on the cheese, and Cooper sharp is an option. I'm not crazy about seeded rolls in general, but the roll is always fresh. It's a heavy steak, very filling. As for the pizza, we started with the square vodka. Excellent pizza. We later got a round buffalo chicken, which was even better. It's a little greasy, but it's damn good. Crispy with a little fluff in the crust, and corn meal on the underside. Sauces and toppings are very high quality, though a little skimpy. This is still really outstanding pizza It's not the type you typically buy for a party. It's too nice for that. In our latest order we got their homemade mozzarella sticks. These things are MASSIVE! They're basically an egg roll size, maybe bigger. Breading is thick and seasoned. Very good mozz sticks. As for critiques: The Cheesesteak - 4 out of 5 times, the cheesteak is soaked. It's to the point of the roll being wrinkled and the paper "fusing" to the roll. Guys, please burn off the extra juices/water before tossing in a roll. It may be fine for dine-in (I've only done takeout), but it's a hot mess after you wrap it. Also, please switch to a different wax paper for wrapping. Whatever you are using starts to deteriorate when wet, turning the unwrapping process into a surgical procedure of removing pieces of wax paper that has fused to the roll. Pizza - could use more sauce/toppings. More options for pies would be great too. General - the menu is very small. I realize this may be on purpose, but you guys are too good to be holding back. At least get some more apps, as you basically only have the mozz sticks at this point. Overall, I love this place and will continue to order from them. I think the cheesesteak issues are very simple to fix, so I really hope the owner reads this post and makes some tweaks. It would really put this place over the top. It's probably the best cheesesteak in the suburbs. I think it edges out Curlys based on meat quality. Note: photo in this review is from my first ever order, which was the only time the roll wasn't wet. Cheesesteak is Cooper sharp with FO. Half-eaten slice is the vodka.

We recently tried this pizza place and had a mixed experience.

To start, we ordered the chicken tenders (their version of chicken cutlets), which were very good, crispy, flavorful, and served with a dipping sauce of our choice. We went with buffalo, but the buffalo sauce was watery and didn’t hold up well.

The fries were another highlight, crispy, well-seasoned, and very enjoyable. We added American cheese dip for an extra charge, and it was worth it. The cheese sauce was smooth and paired perfectly with the fries.

The cheesesteak, however, was underwhelming. The cashier had hyped it up, but the portion of steak didn’t even fill the roll, and the cheese was extremely runny, leaking out of the sandwich and making it a mess to eat. My son ended up not enjoying it, which was disappointing.

On the brighter side, I ordered the Respect Your Father sandwich, chicken cutlet with broccoli rabe, roasted peppers, long hots, and provolone on a toasted seeded roll. This was outstanding. The long hots brought just the right amount of heat, and the flavors worked beautifully together. Easily the best item we tried.

We also ordered the Hot Honey Pepperoni pizza, which had good flavor but came out overly oily. The ā€œdrizzleā€ of hot honey was more of a heavy pour, which overpowered the pizza. It’s worth trying, but I’d recommend asking them to go light on the hot honey.

A few other things to note: there’s no fountain drink machine. We usually just order water when dining in, but bottled water was the only option, and at $3 each, for four people, that added $12 to our bill just for water. Something to keep in mind if you’re eating there. Also, the dining area is extremely tight. Our party of four struggled to fit comfortably, so we wouldn’t recommend dining in, takeout is definitely the better option.

Overall, this was a solid but uneven experience. The chicken cutlet sandwiches seem to be the star here, and we’d definitely come back to try more of those. The fries are also worth ordering. On the flip side, we would skip the cheesesteak and probably stick to takeout next time. With so many options in the area, this wouldn’t be our first choice, but it’s worth checking out if you’re in the mood for a good chicken...

I'm on the fence with the rating on this one for several reasons. It would have been a 3.5 if that were possible, but I don't feel a flat 3 would be fair.

My mother and I considered the plain and pepperoni pizzas we ordered over-cooked by a fair margin, but my wife and son did not think they were that overdone and loved them. I agree that the pepperoni was good, and would have been great if burnt less. This burning, though, is common with wood fired and similar styles of pizza, so ok, they get a pass. I guess. The basil, cheese, and sauce were good, but the crust just wasn't something I could possibly consider eating.

The chicken "cheesesteak," however, was a full-on miss. It was chunks of chicken, quite pale looking, with cheese on what was a decent roll. It might have been a chicken and cheese sandwich, but it was no cheesesteak. Nobody wanted to finish it (it was shared). Frankly, when my wife called to place our order, she should have been told they don't make chickens cheesesteaks, but did make something similar.

If we ever go back here, I'll try asking for the pizzas to be less blackened, and I suspect we'll all be happy with them then. But we're never going to order a sandwich from here...

For those of you unfamiliar with the location, it's where the Blue Sage vegetarian restaurant was for many years before the pandemic. Also, note that there is another pizza place maybe 50 to 75 feet away, so don't...
