I went to Art of Life salon for about a year. The first few visits my hair color turned out fine, not brash Orange, but not how I expected it. Every single time I went in I asked my stylist tori to please leave no brassy or orange tones. I am cognizant that my hair is darker than what the salon is used to, but also experienced in that I know how light it can get. I’ve been going light for 10+ Years. Every time I went in she would say next time when we have more time we can do this and that and lighter here and there…. I came in about every 8 weeks and heard the same thing. Not enough time. When booking my next appointment wouldn’t she know how much time she would need given I’ve been going to her for a while? I’m not expecting to pay for a set service fee. I’ll pay for your time in addition to the base price. This past time I went I asked for a root shadow and lighter at the top. I got no root shadow and I ended up looking like I asked for carrot like highlights throughout my head (note the picture below is of the top and much lighter than the rest of my head). I had to get a color correction elsewhere as I’ve tried tori and asked too many times. Considering I’ve gone several times and got pricey extensions, it would have been worth their time. Tay has done my eyelash extensions a total of three times now & my daughters for a good year. We both have been very happy. Tay handles her business in an extremely professional manner. She also doesn’t take shortcuts & is adamant about cleaning your lashes first before beginning the process of implementing your lash extensions. Her area is always clean & she wears gloves which is very much appreciated. I literally fall asleep as she makes it a relaxing experience rather than talking non stop. I love how my lashes look each time and receive many compliments and questions asking where I go to have them done. My fills also last longer than when I’ve had others fill them. I’ve had four different people do my lashes, over a 4 year span and Tay is absolutely the best!! I had an outdoor wedding this past Saturday that was in 96 degree heat. I panic called the salon Friday mid-morning to see if they by any chance had an opening for an up-do for a very specific timeframe on Saturday! They were able to get me in with Maci and my experience was great! The salon was buzzing with high energy and very busy. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and Maci met me within five minutes! She listened to what I had envisioned (a curly, yet messy and sophisticated faux-hawk - no big deal!) asked great questions, studied my hair for a bit so she could understand what she was working with and my hair ended up looking exactly how I pictured it! I got so many compliments at the wedding, it stayed put all night and was easy to take out at the end of the night! Thanks for a great experience Maci!
