Dishonest Cashier: Double-Check Your Receipt!
We went there to buy some groceries. The total was around $10.25. I saw the amount on the counter display, tapped my card, and then received a notification that $102.52 had been charged! I was completely shocked and confronted the elderly lady at the counter. She acted surprised but didn’t apologize.
The fact is, I believe she intentionally did this because she thought we were tourists. Here are the reasons:
The counter display and the amount on the card machine were different. It wasn’t just a small mistake; it was $10.25 vs. $102.52. This indicates intentional behavior. When the final receipt was printed, she looked at it for a while before handing it to me without saying anything. If she didn’t notice the total charge, then what was she looking at? Even after her mistake, she didn’t apologize willingly. She only said sorry after we got angry and confronted her.
This is such dishonest behavior, so please check your charge if you ever visit this store. And no, we won’t be coming back to this store again! Hopefully, no one else has to go through...
Read moreI've been frequenting this establishment for approx. Five years now. Gary is an awesome owner as he's always talking with customers finding out how their experience has been. I actually was going to work there (fell & broke my hip at my other job, so it was not to be) that's how much I enjoy this place. They have a tremendous selection that rivals the big chain grocery stores. If they don't have what you require, talk to anyone in their & they will "put in a request" for you. As far as the cashiers being rude.. Everyone has a bad day every now & then and I'm sure the staff here does also, but that's one of my main reasons for shopping here. In the five years that I've been going here I have NEVER, NOT ONCE seen or heard any of the staff here being rude, condescending, short, or otherwise abrasive to ANYONE, let alone customers. One thing I can say is Gary and all the staff here do value & put the...
Read moreI've been a loyal customer of Asian American Market in Ventura for years, and I’m so impressed with the recent remodel—it looks fantastic! The store is more spacious, better organized, and has an even wider variety of products than before.
I recently picked up some of their house chili oil and used it to make chili oil onion pasta—absolutely delicious and packed with flavor! They also carry my favorite Buldak spicy noodles, which I always stock up on. Whether you're looking for hard-to-find Asian ingredients or everyday favorites, this market never disappoints.
Great selection, friendly staff, and now with a beautiful new...
