Poor customer service. Rude! Very possessive of my own instrument. Rob was being mean and passive aggressive with me because he made a mistake on my guitar and he had to fix for free. Right after I picked it up two days later from the shop my guitar came back with buzz that wasn’t even there before. I called him and told him that I’m unhappy. MY GUITAR WAS PERFECTLY FINE BEFORE HE TOUCHED IT! He apparently put a new saddle on it. Which doesn’t seem to be much different from the other one in size. Which he kept and did not return. I tried communicating with him what I do and how I do it. However, this man was ignoring me the entire time and spoke down to me with false knowledge. He made me feel unwelcome in his shop and he made me feel that he was very close minded in music and didn’t understand anything about transposing and power chords on an acoustic guitar. It’s very disappointing for me because I live here in Downtown Ventura. I live in the WAV building for artists. Therefore, it’s very tragic the only music store open in town is ran by an ignorant, stuck up, close minded, old receding hair line, middle aged, sad, pathetic old guy.
P.S. I know how to restring my guitar. I just prefer to pay someone else to do it under half an hour, not two days! GUITAR CENTER IS WORTH THE DISTANCE! They totally get YOU...
Read moreFirst off any mom and pop store is better than a corporate guitar company of any kind. True they don't carry stuff that the corporate can carry, but I believe a fast pace got to have yesterday is really bad for learning patience and bad especially for over forestry because wood doesn't grow on trees fast enough (silly). The owner and his store is part of an industry that needs to slow down and enjoy what is available. If not he could order it. If not that and it's a make or break deal I'd be happy I tried his store first before going to a mega store. So in my humble opinion, I'm happy I went to him first and the pedals I exchange for something different and small worked out better than I hoped for. I never thought of getting the pedals he had on hand, but they are perfect on my tube amp, my guitar and handmade cabinets. I built the guitar and cabs with my two hands with more to follow! He's close by and very polite and knows his stuff! Truly wonderful and I...
Read moreNO other guitar shop can compare. Anywhere else you go to you will find either overpriced repair prices or lack of knowledge, lack of availability, or maybe all :-/. Guitar 48 has great used gear, new gear, and EXPERIENCED luthiers. They may not even charge you for service if it's a quick fix. I was worried before going into Guitar 48 as three other shops I went to all quoted crazy expensive repair prices, or they just weren't available to help. All I needed was a quick action checkup, and diagnose how to fix a loose battery compartment in my acoustic. Rob (they're all good btw) quickly told me my action was just fine, and then fixed the loose battery compartment. Didn't charge me a dollar and I was playing my guitar that same day with no issue. What a relief, and I can't thank the team at Guitar 48 enough for their assistance. Thank you, support their business - keep them busy people...
