So I guess we'll see with this place. We spent a family day there and my son, who's on a very competitive bowling league was using his own ball when he bowled and just before his ball hit the pins, his ball jumped up in the air and then went down to continue hitting pins. When he got his ball back, there was a big gouge in his ball. With further investigation their guy, Jason went down the isle and found a bolt! Apparently a bolt had snapped off and broke, then continued to fall on the lane. We complained to Buena Lane's and they basically shrugged us off. Of the $47 paid, they reimbursed $30. My son went to the pro shop where Robert Smith told him they could repair it and that it wasn't too big of a deal. They would have to remove around 1/8 of the ball to fix it. He is completely out of his realm, that ball needs too much removed to repair the huge gouge the bolt made, so it just needs to be replaced. However, they offered no solution for my son's ball. We will wait to see if management has anything to say before we call in our family attorney. We know this is not a common thing, however it is up to the bowling company to keep their Lane's clean and free of any debris. So we will keep you informed, however be aware that IF this ever happens again, they may or may not care about your personal equipment used in on...
Read moreused to bowl here all the time with friends as a kid. It was one of my regular hangouts on the weekends after high school.
The prices were fair, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was exactly what you would want in a bowling alley. The lane quality wasnt the best back then, but it was a minor inconvenience when you had a nice spot where you could go and practice your bowling, and there was a helpful and friendly community willing to give you advice and help you improve your game.
Now the prices are ridiculous.
55 for an hour and a half for literally one person?!
I get that the rates would make sense for a family, but for one human being?!
Especially when the house balls are all polyester hard cast shells with no reactivity, and half the staff has no clue what the phrase "Oil pattern" means.
This place went from pretty much the #1 bowling alley in the county to a giant waste of money.
This alley, and the bowlero at the collection, are being turned into franchise arcades with gimmicks.
If you want to have an actual fun time bowling, i reccomend trying the alley that still has an actual pro shop in it out in camarillo. I know its a bit of a drive, but its years ahead of the dump that buena lanes has become.
Thanks a lot owner, for killing a historically loved hangout...
Read moreI was there last night on a Saturday night with my family. The place is nice and atmosphere is good. The complaints I have is the arcade games for the kids. The claw machines are a rip off. My son hit one of the. Ones twice in a row, perfect. I even took pictures and it said “no winner, try again.” At $3.00 a game you would think it would be legit. And some of the games were broken down (air hockey etc). Secondly, I was in line for 15 minutes for the snack bar, get to the cash register and the sign comes up and the worker tells me and my hungry 18 month old daughter, “ I am taking a 15 minute break.” Why couldn’t someone tell me the whole time we were waiting in line? She could of served me since I was the last one in line and then had the sign up there warning others, but no we got turned away abruptly. Then the break took 35 minutes to come back. I basically had to wait almost an hour to order food that is too expensive and especially for the portions. Normally, I would feel like it is no big deal because it comes with the outing, but to have to wait and abruptly while my daughter was hungry…😡!!! Bottom line, place is very nice; service is up to par, not enough employees to cover the customers, food is expensive. Someone should of covered for the snack bar crew. Highly...
