I feel horrible writing this review but I cannot believe how my dad was treated at this establishment by the owner. Let me start by saying my dad is the nicest in the world and everywhere he goes he makes friends with the people who work at the establishment and they all know him by name and his orders. He started coming to this caffe and fell in love with their espresso, that’s his thing espresso. This detail is going to seem trivial but he likes steamed heavy cream on the side of his espresso. He came in many times with this order. One time the owner asked him to leave because he was too busy and he needed the tables. So my dad thought it odd but he did. Then he came in again when the owner was there and the owner told the guy taking his order that we’re not doing steamed heavy cream on the side any more it’s for the kitchen. My dad offered to pay for the cream but the manager said no. So my dad left and hadn’t been back since, it’s been about a year and half. We’ll since then my dad has been diagnosed with cancer and has brain tumors and forgot about this incident and started going back to this cafe with his same order. After his 3rd time coming back the owner was there, saw my dad, recognized him and started yelling at him in front of the other customers that he told him before they’re not doing his heavy cream on the side. My dad was shocked and embarrassed as he has no recollection of this and tried to explain to him he didn’t remember this and again offered to pay for the cream and the owner literally kicked him out. I can’t believe an owner, especially a fellow immigrant would treat any customer like this. I’ve never written a review like this but it makes me sick that people think it’s okay to treat others this way, especially when they want nothing more than to support...
Read moreI came here for breakfast/lunch and had a lovely experience. We arrived around 12:30 pm on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't too crowded. There were still some seats available inside and a short wait outside. The inside is bright and light. They have a nice outside seating area in front of the restaurant on Main Street.
They have a wonderful selection of breakfast and lunch items to choose from - omelettes, eggs benedict, pasta, paninis, salads, as well as other specialties such as waffles, French toast, pancakes, and their breakfast lasagna. They also offer some signature cocktails.
I chose the Giovanni omelette. My friends had the French omelette, eggs benedict, and a panini. We also ordered the cinnamon brioche French toast with caramelized bananas to share. Everything was delicious.
My omelette was perfectly cooked. It was served with toast, potatoes, and fruit. Usually, you have to choose between potatoes or fruit. I like that I was given both. They also served a little tin of jam, tasted like strawberry, to spread on the toast. The French toast was amazing. The bananas were a great addition and added to the flavor.
Everyone was so friendly and service was spot on. Our food came out quickly. We barely waited any time after ordering. This was my first visit, but my friends have visited several times. They say every time they come that it's amazing and everything they have eaten has been delicious. I can't wait to go back.
I think my favorite part was the pizzelle they served at the end of the meal. It is made fresh and brought to the table hot in a little white bag. That was the perfect touch to an...
Read more2-21-22-Have been back here many times, but today was great as we could sit inside. And they have added items to their menu, which we tried. The food was outstanding, service impeccable, and we will return. Honestly, have never had anything I didn't enjoy here and would love to have one of everything, most of the time.
Start of Covid 2020- Absolutely outstanding food! Had breakfast here for the first time and I have to say I was more than pleasantly surprised. We decided Ventura is finally getting some great places for food. I love the outside seating so I truly hope the powers that be in the city offices decide to keep it that way. But lets talk about the food. One friend had the breakfast lasagna. We all had a taste. It was decadent, not too rich, but a flavor explosion of delectable sauce, wonderful vegetables and just an overall satisfying dish. Next dish was the Jodie omelette, filled with prosciutto, mushrooms and brie cheese. Most places make their omelettes so large you have to take it to go, waste it or share it. This one was a perfect amount of food. The potatoes they make have interesting and very tasty seasonings on them. Yum! And lastly the pancakes with banana. Pancakes were great and the banana was perfect. The fruit cups added to some dishes had fruit sliced in a lovely manner, which takes a minute to do, but leaves the dish looking so much better. Overall a wonderful experience, will go again and will be happy to share the great food experience. I will say, though, I wish they didn't serve their cold drinks in paper cups.. just seems cheap alongside this delicious and...
