Marina's Fashion & Alterations — Local services in Vero Beach

I went to Marina's in January with less than two months until my wedding, extremely nervous about my dress - it was an off the rack dress (I managed to find my discontinued dream dress at an outlet in my size) that needed alterations and I needed them to help hide the edges of a body suit under my arms that had been designed to support my bust without showing under the lace back. I couldn't have asked for a better experience here. They separated the lace from the satin dress underneath and added the second zipper to the other layer to make sure everything laid against my back perfectly after they adjusted the shoulders and waist of both layers, cleaned up all the fuzziness/pulls that come with a lace dress that has been tried on too many times in a shop, reinforced the button holes, and added a layer of lace on the sides to disguise the edges of the bodysuit that were showing. I've seen my fair share of bustles at weddings that have failed as soon as the bride started dancing. Not mine. Mine held through all of the swing dancing I did that night with my husband and guests. Not to mention the reasonable prices - this would have cost me a fortune to have these alterations done at a bridal salon.

I live in Orlando, and I absolutely will bring all of my formal clothes down to Marina's that need alterations after this experience. They know what they're doing - stop looking elsewhere and go...

Brides!! If you need your dress altered, this is THE spot!! The bridal shop I purchased my dress from provided a list of recommended seamstresses that were local to Melbourne, but their reviews were inconsistent. Similarly in Vero, the seamstresses reviews were either pretty neutral or had a few too many bad reviews. I decided on Marina’s after remembering she had done alterations for the high school JROTC program that I was apart of and how good the alterations came out! Her reviews also did not disappoint! After taking the dress in, she quoted me a very reasonable price for the hemming and bustle of the dress and would have the dress completed in less than a month! Today, I picked up the dress and LET ME TELL YOU!!! WOW!! My dress’s skirt is layered with two different fabrics. I expected and worried that the different fabrics would be too difficult to hem evenly and the bustle that would look obvious. But Marina absolutely killed it!! Not only did the hem look perfect but the bustle is so well done you can’t even tell it’s there!! To do this with layering and multiple different fabrics is insanely impressive! What can I say about these amazing humans? Marina was just incredible from the first appointment. I went to her for my wedding dress alteration and from the moment I put on my dress and explained how I wanted the dress to look she instantly knew what she needed to do. I got everything I wanted and more!

She completely redid the sleeves so the dress was more comfortable and i had more movement on my arms. Restructured the boning material of the corset so it better accentuated my body, reinforced the buttons on the back so they wouldn’t snap.

I originally was only going to wear my dress for the ceremony and then change into something more comfortable for the reception but my dress ended up being so comfortable after the alterations that we decided to add a bustle last minute so I would be able to comfortably dance in it. I’m so happy I did because I ended up wearing my dress most of the night.
