UPDATE: Since I can’t reply to the “ridiculous” response to my ridiculous review 🙄 I figured I would just update here to address a few things:
The reason you didn’t see me was because I was in the car the whole time with my two year old son while we waited for the food.
And you’re right, the wait wasn’t so terrible, 20+ minutes for a meal is understandable. But also, when is waiting for food with your arms crossed in front of you a crime? My parents were rude because they stood and stared? HOW DARE THEY! (That’s sarcasm if you can’t tell)
You’re missing BIG picture here. It wasn’t the wait, or the food (which in all honesty if that’s your best then you need to do better because it was NOT that good), it was the customer service…or lack there of…which is what sparked all of this. Your worker could have just said “ok” and been done with it but for them to say “Good, we don’t want you back!” is what really shows the kind of establishment you run.
I’m from New Jersey and work in customer service and I would NEVER respond to a customer like that. So you keep toting how you make your food and how “great” it is (it’s not) and I’ll go back to never having to endure your bland food or customer service again.
ORIGINAL POST: Went there this evening with my parents on the way home from The Fresh Market (we wanted to find something there but we’re out of luck). We decided to order a caprese salad, a chicken parmigiana entree, and meatballs with penne.
I understand they’re more of a pizza place but the first red flag not letting us know how long the wait would be. The second red flag was that they only have outdoor waiting…in FLORIDA…with bugs that bite.
So after over twenty minutes we had to ask if our food was ready and we were told “a few more minutes”. After finally getting the food and paying my mother made a comment about how long the wait was and the older woman started gaslighting her by saying “no it wasn’t, I saw you waiting there, it was only 20 minutes”
My father then said “That’s okay, we won’t be back” and this woman said “Good, we don’t want you back!”
Rude!
Also, the chicken tasted days old, the meatballs we’re probably frozen, and that was one of THE worst caprese salads I’ve ever had! We’re not missing anything by...
Read moreI just got done eating half of the calzone with pepperoni from Pizza Mia, and felt compelled to write a review. I don't do this. I don't write reviews. I'm not on Yelp. I don't do surveys. I don't do customer satisfaction surveys even when i'm offered a FREE THIS OR THAT!
...but this calzone just changed my life. Bear with me here. FIRST OFF, this GIGANTIC calzone was $8 ($7+$1/topping). It is EASILY two meals. My wife and I compared calzone pricing last night as it had been a while since we have had one, and Pizza Mia was at least $5-6 less than similar calzones offered around us. We thought it was a typo - it wasn't.
SECONDLY, vs. other 'Zones i've eaten in the past, this thing was delicious. The mozzarella, ricotta, Parmesan, smoked provolone, and Asiago were bursting out of the top like a tasty calderra of dairy and happiness. Internally, the same cheese hugged the pepperoni ever so gently, as if to let it know they would seen be in a better place (my intestinal tract) soon. While it came with some tasty marinara sauce, you could eat it without and still get that flavor-splosion I mentioned previously. With it, an extra passenger hops aboard the flavor train to flavor town and it's full steam ahead.
LASTLY, service was quick and everyone we interacted with was friendly. Even when a fellow patron cut me in line, I let it slide, hypnotized by the scents permeating through the intimate establishment. This experience was so pleasant that I even tipped on a pick-up order.
In conclusion, I give Pizza Mia, their calzones, and their pizza (that review is for another time), 5 stars, 42 thumbs up, a seal of approval, a seal clapping in approval, and my wholehearted recommendation to anyone in Vero Beach that hasn't tried their offerings yet. But you should. Right now. Get in your car and go. You won't regret it.
This is not a paid advertisement. I really, really enjoyed Pizza Mia and am...
Read moreWe’ve ordered two pizzas from PizzaMia’s. The first one was pretty good, by Zero Beach standards. The second, not so much. I’m not sure who answers the phone for this place, but they need to attend customer service class! Rude doesn’t quite define her attitude, but it’s close. What she needs to understand is : she’s the voice of the company. Her attitude and demeanor will either cause a customer to come back or not! The pizza here just isn’t good enough for her attitude.
We ordered a pizza and ziti. First of all, they only sell one size pizza - large. While this might be okay for customers who can eat a large pizza in one sitting it isn’t too good for small families or just two. The pizza doesn’t taste very good the next day, so if you can’t eat it in one sitting you’ve spent a lot of money for nothing.
I hate the way they serve the sausage. They slice it up, which no pizzeria I’ve ever tried has done. Chunk it up for Gods sake! At least make it look like a pizza!
The ziti was average. They skimped on the sauce which made the dish dry and barely edible. Thank goodness we had some sauce we could use to make up for their mistake.
I don’t think we’ll be going back. The attitude of the person who answered the phone, plus the tastelessness of the ziti and pizza don’t warrant a return visit. We understand this place was briefly closed during the pandemic. Perhaps they should consider...
