I had a horrible experience here at VNA shopping their scammy buy one get one sale which is highly illegal by the way. I tried to match up item for item so I could get the best discount how ever Rae Ann with her horrible attitude said that's not how they do it they charge the higher priced items with the lowest. I did the calculations and realized they were trying to over charge me $60 at a thrift store! I was also followed around the store by one of the associates and harassed by them. I told the manager and she was awful siding with the discriminatory sales associates. I went even higher and tried to talk to someone at VNA head office and she never bothered call me back and apologize about my experience. They are completely money hungry pretending the money is going back to VNA but I smell something fishy. Mainly because I told the manager the prices were outrageous almost at near retail and she scoffed and me and told me other charity thrift stores in the city were STUPID for charging a fair amount for USED DONATED CLOTHES they get FOR FREE. I also heard Rae Ann and other associates making fun of customers and saying they refused to split up peoples orders because they didnt feel like it. Hello its your job to help thd customers with whatever they need. You want to run like a retail store then start acting like one and if a customer wants to split an order you do it, its not about what you want to do its about what the PAYING customer wants. I guess if I had a fat donation check that they could line their greedy little pockets with they would have called me back but I guess if it ain't green it's not important to them. Don't get me started on their "designer" bags they try to pass off as authentic charging 100s of dollars for clearly fake bags and wallets. I feel bad for all the unsuspecting people who bought these items thinking they were real. Also I heard that associates steal high ticket items from the back room all the time. This place is a greedy messsss. Don't bother there are much cheaper alternatives with better...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFebruary 28th 2022 as soon as we walked in the door we we're not greeted with a hello or a good morning we were instead instructed that we must wear masks and that if we did not have our masks they would provide them for us in which they did. The table in which the masks are being dispensed have a sign that matches the sign that's on the door that said due to increased covid infections masks are required. I would think that a business that supports visiting nurses would at least follow the guidelines that CDC had put out. For people that are not familiar with this area we are in Indian River County in Florida. This is a low infected County. Again this is not my recommendation or guesstimation this is what the CDC has posted. The entire Florida coast from Port Canaveral all the way down past Miami is a medium or low infected area and the CDC guidelines indicate a mask is not required unless you personally are a high-risk category if you are to contract covid. I don't care for people who are misinformed and don't know any better but I hate people that are misinformed and are spreading false narratives. If there are increased infections why haven't they wiped down the doors for the last 25 people that have gone in and out of the place ? By the way I'm a Democrat and this has nothing to do with politics. We've always follow the guidelines as they've been handed to us and we have our vaccinations/Booster even though we didn't believe in it, because that's what we were told. So now we're trying to follow the new CDC guidelines and we still have people out there and more importantly businesses that...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVNA is a charity that helps terminally ill patients. According to their website "Proceeds from the stores help to offset the day-to-day operating expense of the VNA Hospice House and benefit VNA Hospice's mission of providing compassionate care for any Indian River County resident facing a life-limiting illness." To fund their charity VNA accepts donations of household goods and vehicles. They also need volunteers to help run the stores, with merchandising, and day to day operations. VNA operates another thrift store in Sebastian.
Located in a strip mall, this is a very large thrift store. They sell clothing, small electronics, furniture, art, and household goods. Items looked like they were in great condition and prices seemed fair with clothes being particularly inexpensive. Everything was organized and attractively arranged.
I prefer to shop at thrift stores that are run by charities as opposed to just for profit. They help the community in so many ways. VNA for instance is helping people during the most vulnerable time of their lives. At the same time they are keeping items out of the landfill and offering low cost goods to people who might not otherwise not be able to afford them. Shopping here is a win all the way around. The next time you need clothes or a piece of furniture think...
