I normally love coming here, until today. I bought 2 lamps for $50.00 each, the ONLY two left. Both were scuffed up and had scratches on them. However they were so unique I couldn't pass them up. At the register I pointed out the nicks and scratches and asked if there is anything they could do for me since I was paying full price for something that was not "brand new". The lady behind the counter proceeded to get a magic eraser and tried to wipe off the scratches, she kept telling me it was glue from a sticker, after I repeatedly pointed out it was not glue and all she had to do was rub her finger over it to feel that it was actual nicks in the finish, in a few spots. After a few minutes of her scrubbing my chrome lamps with a magic eraser I finally told her to stop as those magic erasers can leave scratches when used dry especially on a chrome finish. I asked if she could please ask a manager if there was anything they could do since I was paying full store price for something that had nicks and scratches on it. The lampshades are made out of a very thin metal cut to look like trees, and they too had marks and scratches. The lady behind the counter finally went and talked to someone, away with my lamps she went, only to return with someone who said that it is not store policy to do anything because it is a manufacturer defect! Are you serious? I told her how unhappy I was and let her know that it is very poor customer service to say it is a "manufacturer defect " and therefore per store policy they can't do anything. I am beside myself at how sucky customer service has become. yes they have nice things, yes its a great store but god forbid they do anything for selling products that are already damaged. It's things like that, that will eventually cause stores to close down as they keep loosing more and more customers. If your listening Tj Maxx, fix your policy and your customer service or stop selling damaged goods and expecting people to pay full price for something. I doubt I'll...
Read moreI love this TJ Maxx and typically everybody that works there is pretty friendly. I come to the T.J. Maxx every so often considering I live across the street and this is the first time that I’ve ever had an encounter with a extremely rude associate. The lady working at the jewelry counter was incredibly rude to me today and I’m not sure if it was because I’m a teenager or she was just having a bad day but I do believe that I did not deserve to be treated the way I was. I first approach the counter and said excuse me as she wasn’t with anybody and asked if I could see the price on some thing she showed it to me and I then said thank you and walked away. After I was done looking around I came back to the jewelry counter to see if there was anything else that I liked . I was waiting for her to be done so I didn’t bother her she looked up at me and rudely said ” did you wanna look at something else“ in a really rude tone. I said yes and asked her if I could see a ring she pulled it out handed it to me and I told her that I wanted that one. I had two other items with me so I had asked her if I could pay for them there but told her that if I couldn’t that was totally fine. She said OK and started ringing me up slamming my stuff on the counter. The leggings that I had grabbed that she was ringing up did not have a tag on them so she said “ugh” extremely rudely and just walked away without saying anything I sat there for a minute until she returned and she scanned a different pair of leggings and threw the leggings in my bag. At the end of the transaction in a really nice tone said have a great day. I understand that sometimes people have bad days but there was no reason for her to act like that. I still will continue to come to this TJ Maxx because I love the jewelry and usually the jewelry attendants but the way is the jewelry attendant acted today was totally...
Read moreHorrible experience!! My boyfriend and I stopped by after work because I had never been to the Viera store. We were literally followed down every aisle!! I think they thought we were going to shoplift. First of all this is wrong on soo many levels. Number 1 I was a business major in college and retail actually has a % allocated for theft. Meaning they know it will happen and their numbers account for this. Not to say that makes it ok, however when you make customers feel unwelcomed it is just easier to go somewhere else. Number 2 , I am a school counselor and I am upheld to the highest standards both in school and out. Number 3. I probably make more money than anyone in that store so they can shove their snooty attitude. This is Viera people, not 5th avenue; which by the way is where I am from. Number 4. My boyfriend had just gotten off work and he did look a little rough as he is a painter. He has an honest job and works long hours so excuse me miss night floor store manager. She was extremely rude. We were on the pet aisle trying to find a stainless steel bowl for one of our dogs. We found it but didn't buy it because she was soo rude. Ohh. Did I mention my boyfriend is half black... Enough said. With the plethora of retailers both online and physically; I think it would be a good idea for the Viera store to be kind to all its patrons. The least they could of done was said hello. I will just do business elsewhere.. By the way giving one star was generous..... I will be calling their corporate office.!!! Sara B was right on with her comment. If you dont fit their description of what a decent customer looks like they make it known. They don't even have to say one word!!! I pity any black person...
