Our family loves Brighton Gardens at Friendship Heights! There is a warm and caring atmosphere that permeates every aspect of being there. The staff genuinely care for the welfare of the residents. The food is really good! The upkeep of shared spaces and apartments is immaculate. There are myriad activities daily, weekly, seasonly, and on holidays. Outings are frequent - neighborhood walks, museums, theater. You might also walk in on a Saturday afternoon and hear a professional opera singer entertaining in the main lobby or a group of students performing a recital. We were delighted to receive a video of our aunt dancing! It's definitely not the kind of place where residents are left to waste away in front of a tv all day. Our family visits our aunt pretty much every week so we get a good sense of how she's doing. It is evident to us that her physical, emotional, and cognitive wellbeing are valued and attended to. We feel very fortunate that we found this wonderful place. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to the entire staff of Brighton Gardens. We are so so...
Read moreBrighton Gardens has been a great place for my mother during the last two years. It is a place of dignity. The staff is professional and attentive.
Even at age 89, Mom is more alert and has more energy than many of the residents there and loves the location, access to the community center, all the activities that Brighton provides on a regular basis. It really is first class and it's a huge relief for my sister and me to know that she is being well cared for. Mom has told us several times how happy she is there and how grateful she is that we found such a fine place for her to live out the rest of her years.
Additional Note: Now, six years later, she is 95 and has moved to the second floor memory care unit. The transition went smoothly and the level of care has increased but, of course, so has the price. It is an expensive place to live but my sister and I continue to believe in the choice we have made in...
Read moreI moved into Brighton Gardens of Friendship Heights in January of 2024. It’s a great neighborhood with many shops and restaurants, plus my son lives just ten minutes away. Moving into Brighton Gardens was one of the best decisions I ever made. I was fortunate in that at my first meal here, I was introduced to people who would become my buddies. I wasn’t expecting for the transition from living on my own to an assisted living community to happen so quickly and smoothly. All it takes is a friend or two, and ice cream served twice daily! I love playing jeopardy here and I also run a memoir club. Transportation to doctor appointments is an added bonus. I’m impressed by the fact that the care staff has been here...
