Catholic Diocese of Richmond — Local services in Virginia

I am beyond shocked by the treatment I received at the Catholic Diocese of Richmond. My car’s low oil pressure light came on, and I immediately pulled into their parking lot to turn off my engine and avoid causing further damage. I checked my oil (which was empty), called for help, and waited in my car for assistance.

In no more than 10 minutes, a man approached my car, and I rolled down my window to explain the situation. Instead of offering any kind of help or understanding, he yelled at me, berated me for "trespassing," and demanded I leave immediately, and returned to the building. I was left stunned and speechless by his rude and hostile behavior.

I wasn’t causing any harm, wasn’t there for any extended period of time, and was simply waiting for roadside assistance. I have never been treated so harshly by a stranger, let alone someone who is supposed to represent a place of kindness and compassion. It's a sad reflection of the values one would expect from a church or religious institution.

It is concerning to consider how much worse I might have been treated had I not fit a certain appearance. Frankly, I’m disgusted by this experience and cannot fathom how anyone could behave with such disregard for another...

My experience with Lynn (Donna) Mooney was disappointing. Despite my efforts to provide communication, she came across as pretentious, pushy, and overly critical, leaving little room for constructive interaction. She seemed to feel her time was being wasted and conveyed this in a manner that felt abrasive and judgmental, which made the interaction challenging.

What stood out most was the disconnect between her behavior and her stated values, including her favorite quote: "Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can." Unfortunately, this did not align with how she treated me during our encounter.
