I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience at Chadar Thai. My favorite dish was the Tom Yum Soup-- bright lemongrass flavor and nice spice! You can specify spice level on almost all dishes, as well as include whatever meats or tofu and veggies you want. Dumplings and curries were great too! We were able to place our order on my phone at the table and the waiter still made sure to check on us several times and refill our drinks -- seamless, pleasant experience. I especially loved that there are pictures of everything on the digital menu.
The restaurant is located behind another block of buildings off Broad Street, making it hard to see from the road. That said, there's plenty of parking and it's very easy to access. Lots of folks were ordering to go and picking up while we were there, which suggests that's an easy process too.
Looking forward to returning to this hidden gem of a Thai...
Read moreGreat food. A good ambience. Fantastic staff/service.
We were there recently. A local friend recommended it to us. A group of 15+. It was late in the evening and we called in to check if they could accommodate us as we were still driving and still a couple of hours away. The manager was open enough to tell us that we needed to be in at least 45mins before closing. We made it with 30mins to go. Yet, he took us in. Patiently waited for us to settle and put in the long order. The food was really good. Just a note, make sure you ask them for the spice scale. Medium (3/5) turned out to be pretty spicy. Anyways, he made it up giving us all some green tea ice cream on the house. The soups were really awesome.
Highly recommended and would definitely go again when...

This alone should say a lot. The entrees lacked balance and honestly were just bland. Spicy is not spicy here either. They offer chili oil at the table if you want your spice level higher, some dry chili would be preferable for some dishes. I hope this was just a bad night, if not, they went from the best to the worst Thai food I've had in Richmond.
Service was average, little slow.
Atmosphere: Decore is very nice, but the place feels dead somehow even with people in it. It's so quiet and you just listen to people clinking their...
