Besides the fact that I am from Chicago, Illinois and have never seen any other Movie Complex to be this CLEAN!!! Wow..... When i had visited back in Chicago to see family we ended up going to see a movie and I could not really enjoy myself... I think that Marcus Parkwood had Spoiled Me!! I had to get up and leave as i forgot just how nasty the Seats were, the slimmy floors, and the place so crowded and packed like sardines shoulder to shoulder where as here at Marcus Parkwood Theaters , They have elegant and CLEAN Cinemas! The plain theater seating has good arm, Shoulder and leg room but if you want to spoil yourself or to enjoy a great date night with a special person, pay the extra couple bucks and get the Luxury Seating! The Luxury Seating has it going on! Plenty of room everywhere ! Leg room, haha... you have a recliner that you can have legs up or down. Very comfortable reclined back while watching your show. Don't forget to order your dinner at the resturant! That's right you can order your food off the menu and can eat it with your beverage while enjoying your movie. Almost just like at home !!
The only drawback here at Marcus in my opinoin would be the cost of food however that's pretty much standard anywhere you go. That's how they make the profits. With all that candy, popcorn and POP I would think that they still have some margin room that can be met to still make a profit and still increase sales by quantity.. That's business and not my business or concern .. only a wish, lol....
It's still nice to treat one self to a nite of Comfort & Luxury. Eating Dinner that you ordered from the in house restaurant while watching a...
Read moreI was extremely disappointed with the service I received while attending a movie tonight at Marcus Parkwood Theatre in Waite Park. I decided to order a smoothie before going into the movie. As I took a sip of the smoothie, I noticed that something did not taste right. I had my friend try the smoothie just to make sure it wasn't just me. We both agreed that it tasted like a chemical. I debated on whether or not to go back to the front and say something, because I felt horrible about complaining. I finally did decide to say something, so I brought my full smoothie to the front and politely told the lady working that my smoothie did not taste right. She called the other gentlemen over that made the smoothie and his response was, "What did you expect? It's just some ice and a packet." I was in shock about his response and he then stated, "I'll call the manager over." The manager came to the front quickly and asked what the problem was, I responded "I'm so sorry, Sir. I wouldn't normally say anything, but this smoothie doesn't taste right." He did not once apologize, but just stated that he "would have to take a loss on the full smoothie." I asked very politely if I could give them back the smoothie and then pay the difference for an Icee. He responded, "Well, like I said, we will now have to take a loss on that smoothie, but I guess we can do that." He then proceeded to ask me to pay $1.08 extra for an Icee. I understand that they were concerned about not giving out "free" food and drinks, but I did not once receive an apology or any sort of empathy in this entire situation. Absolutely HORRIBLE...
Read moreThe night manager was ridiculous on a Friday night. They were very disrespectful and followed us around the theatre, demanding proof of my friend’s birthday to enter into a rated R movie. My group were all 17 years old and we kindly showed our proofs of age and my guy friend happened to not have his ID with him. Instead of being understanding or someone considerate, this manager was treating us like delinquent children, with an authoritative stance and attitude. This experience was not hospitable or kind. I feel like everyone who respectively buys tickets and purchases snacks should be treated with respect no matter the customer’s appearance. What ticked me off was the sudden switch from the manager whispering “I really don’t care that much if you’re of age or not” to a whole movie theatre top security guard after my friend said he didn’t have an ID with him. I think this is also a fault on this theatre’s system for not initially checking costumers’ ages BEFORE they buy the ticket. No one should be chased around the movie theatre AFTER the tickets and snacks are bought, and the when the movie started 20 minutes ago, forcing a refund and a waste of everyone’s time for the “risk” that a customer is under the age of 17. There are many better ways to handle this situation and it shows to me the incompetence, lack of work ethic, (spending 20 minutes of their payed service standing with their arms crossed in demand for an ID) and customer service/satisfaction. I will definitely not coming back here and will make sure to inform other young adults my age that the management does not treat customers...
