Vinteige — Local services in Walnut Creek

We went in here on a whim about a year ago. We spotted what looked like a pair Togo dupes, but which had been nicely reupholstered. However, they were priced at over $2000. When we inquired about why dupes were so expensive, the employee swore up and down that they were actual Togos, even going so far as to call the manager to back up her story.

We were the idiots and took them at their word, buying the pieces. We learned later that they were indeed dupes, and we’d overpaid by about $1000. When we contacted Vinteige to ask if they’d be willing to buy back the pieces or give us some of our money back, since they’d guaranteed they were real, they said no. Will never buy...

Good store! I'm not very familiar with the vintage home goods scene, but Vinteige has a good selection of uniquely catered wares and furniture. It is a good option for folks who would prefer to have home pieces that are high quality but also more unique and less common place. This store is a dream for those who appreciate beautiful things for the home! I, personally, prefer to buy used, vintage and upcycled items, it's one small thing I can do for the landfills/environment and this is a mecca for it.
