VSTAR — Local services in Walnut Creek

I live in Portland, Oregon, and found a beautiful Mercedes on Craigslist SF (or maybe East Bay), and at a very good price. I called and talked with Yuriy. He was friendly and was happy to take the time to answer all the initial questions I had about the car, including if it was ok for me to have it checked out at a Mercedes repair shop of my choice (my dime, of course). He said he would be happy to have that done, which right there is a very positive sign about the integrety of the business. He also found a transport company that would ship the car to my door for $550. And because it was getting shipped, rather than me picking if up, I didn't have to pay California sales tax. He also sent me a copy of the title and the Carfax report to go over ahead of time.

I found a good repair shop (European Werkstatt), and Yuriy was happy to take the time to drive it over there for the inspection. The inspection found only one small problem ( a vacum valve in the trunk) and the mechanic at VSTAR fixed it the next day. I then decided to buy it, and Yuriy overnighted me the paperwork. I sent it back the next day along with my check. While the check was clearing, Yuriy arranged for the trucking company to pick up the car. Once the check cleared it was on the truck within two days and and getting unloaded in front of my house the day after that.

Yuriy kept me updated by text, email and phone every step of the way, including several pictures of it being loaded onto the truck. He was always friendly and helpful, and was happy to take the time to answer any and all questons I had. This was very reassuring because naturally there is a bit of worry when purchasing a car you haven't seen, and from someone you don't know.

If you are out of state and find a car at VSTAR, you will be very well taken care of every step of the way. I recommend VSTAR very highly.

I have been around for many years and in that time I have purchased several cars, new and used. I’ve dealt with car company dealers, private used car dealers, and private individuals. In all of those transactions I have never had a more positive experience than my recent dealings with Yuriy at VSTAR.

When a car dealer encourages a third-party prepurchase inspection, it is a good sign that they are dealing in quality vehicles. When they prep a car beyond cosmetic issues, it is a sign of a conscientious dealer. When they willingly provide CARFAX and Experian Autocheck reports, you can be confident they are not trying to hold anything back.

You may be able to find a cheaper deal that will cost you more in the long run, but if you want quality up front for a fair price, I would try VSTAR.

A few years ago I looked at a car that was offered by a large dealership on the “main drag.” I was also going to check out a similar car at VSTAR, but nobody was in the office at the time. Also, the lot was small and tucked away on a side street. I bought the car from the “big dealer” with the large inventory of new and used cars. Big mistake. The vehicle wound up having several issues. VSTAR may be small and out of the way, but sometimes the best shows are ”Off Broadway.” I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another...

I recently contacted this dealership regarding a 2010 Infiniti FX35, intending to inquire about the vehicle and potentially negotiate the price, as it was significantly overpriced compared to the Kelley Blue Book (KBB) value. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing and unprofessional.

When I raised the issue of the price being much higher than the market value, the representative on the phone became rude and unreasonably angry. Instead of addressing my concerns calmly and professionally, they responded in a way that made it clear they lacked the basic customer service skills needed for this type of interaction.

All that was required was a polite explanation that the price was non-negotiable. Instead, the rudeness I encountered made me feel that this company is not focused on customer care or fair pricing.
