Spoontonic Lounge — Restaurant in Walnut Creek

Been loving this place for years, been a constant customer and getting more people here. It's casual, not fancy, but it's good just to have fun with your friends.

Had an awful experience last Friday, we got there at 11PM, place was clearly empty but security people for some reason won't allow people to go into the premises.

Obviously we all know some lounges do this to feel special and create some kind of hype. We were in line for 30+ minutes, people were freezing -- they did not care.

Then new people came, and without hesitation they went in, they were VIP or something. Okay, I get it... again, this happens everywhere. We were 20 people in line, all of us were regular customers, not VIP. Ok, no biggie.

We finally were able to go in, I got closer to the bar and attempted to order a drink. Bartender, a young lady said "no, I will not serve you". All my friends were like, okay... then they tried to order drinks for themselves, and I again attempted to order a drink from the same lady and she said "you've had enough".

I was shocked, she was not kidding. I literally had been at the bar for 4 minutes, and she was denying service. I tried to talk to her, to security, and manager... no go.

They kicked us out for no reason. I have never felt so humiliated in my life.

Sober, humiliated, sad.

Never again. Never, again. I still can't believe this, maybe she confused for another person......

First impression: the bouncers were rude for no reason. Was ignored by the bartenders. And then was disappointed in the lack of alcohol in my cocktail (my buddy asked for them to put more alcohol in his drink cus it was so weak which they did) :( 2.) The place is located in kind of a sketchy spot which wouldn’t be so bad if the bouncers weren’t sketch themselves. The establishment is small, dark and gross (especially the bathrooms) -.- 3.) The atmosphere the night I went for a show was very chill & comfortable. The bartenders are quick and helpful. I like the cool little designs in the bar counter & the graffiti art on the outside wall. The out door lounge area is really spacious & has tons of seating and tables. The parking lot is decent but you can always park down the hill & it's all free. My only suggestion is just maintenance in the bathroom. It wasn't terrible but, definitely can use someone checking in every now and then to keeping it mess free. Drunk people definitely do...
