Editing my review based upon customer service:
I had a small to go order and forgot my wallet. I had my checkbook. They wouldn't accept a check from a customer who had been there probably 50 times in the past (and the person "helping" me recognized me).
Guess throwing the food away was a better option. I'll take my business elsewhere going forward.
Original review:
Three stars but I do like Saroor. I just hate eating there. The restaurant is in a huge need of a remodel. Floors creak when you walk on them.
But . . .
The food is tasty. They have a decent buffet. It's not the best around but it's not bad. It depends upon when you get there. If it's towards the end of lunch, it's just not as fresh as it should be. But in the beginning, you'll be very satisfied.
I do love their Chicken Tikka Masala. It's my favorite item on their menu and possibly the best out of the four or five Indian restaurants I go to in the area.
They had a big changeover in staff a few months ago and I feel like their service went way down. I went back in the other day and one of the old employees was back so hopefully things will...
Read moreHonest review: I visited this restaurant with my family for the first time few months back, we really loved the food and service. Food was quite tasty. After that I took my friends to this place in a hope we will get the same quality of food and service. But it was a real disappointment. They told we are serving frozen food because we don’t have our chef.
Yesterday (06/29/2022), we decided to give one more chance. Honestly was a huge mistake on our part to even give a chance. We ordered Chicken kebab which was all underdone. Chicken Curry, Goat curry was all underdone. When we called the manager/server, he took the plates and warmed the food and gave the same back. Manager was also very rude to us when we told this meats are underdone. He again gave the same excuse we don’t have our chef so we are serving frozen food. Manager was also very rude to us when we asked to serve the last drink.
We will never ever visit this place and would recommend people to consider this review and not visit it. No one would want to eat frozen undercooked meat. You are putting everyone’s...
Read moreMediocre Indian food. The curry base still had the taste of raw coriander powder. Who uses coriander powder in Lamb Vindaloo! It was a concoction of crush tomato from a can with coriander and not enough garlic or ginger or other spices. This was not fried proper, it was boiled like a pasta sauce. They threw in the lamb after. Yuck! The 4.5 is because this caters to those who lack depth in their Indian palette. The lamb should be infused with the curry. Vindaloo is more of a thin, yellow hot curry. I dont think they even had tumeric. Waste of $$$. The Indian food in Walnut Creek in general leaves one with dread.
The Chilli Paneer was a bit better. Was not spicy at all so the chilli part was not delivered but otherwise flavour was okay.
Seekh kabob was cleary precooked, cut into pieces when cold then microwaved to serve. Fresh seekh kabob has a very good wafting aroma.
Naan was standard. I will...
