Over the years, I have made it to almost every habitat for humanity resale store Pennsylvania and New Jersey and I love this place great deals, but recently I was at the Warminster store and with a military ID because you receive a discount but a white lady manager with black hair told me only the people who served in the military can receive this discount and if I wanted to receive this discount, I had to bring my husband back. Well I was very upset because my husband died for this country and because he is dead The United States government gives widows their benefits she tried to tell me that she called every store and no one gives a discount to wives of deceased military. I have never heard anything so horrible in my life . Because I’ve been going to the other stores for years and they all give discounts with a military ID. Some has special days, and quite a few other stores and restaurants with a active military ID gives discounts because it’s a way to honor families and Veterans who served or gave their life for the United States I wonder, if it was just the color of my skin that made the difference Because I can’t understand. I have never had this problem with any other employee in this store or any other store ever. Will I continue to go to Habitat resale stores of course I will, because in most cases is a great value and the stores do a lot to help other people I’m not gonna let one person change how I think about a company that does well for so...
Read moreSet up for a pickup of 2 couches 1 plain and I with strips and four chairs, 2 had a print design. Sent pictures, they set up appointment. Called and reported all furniture was OK for pickup next day. Pickup day arrives, truck arrives and before the driver was closing his door and BEFORE seeing the furniture, he states "We have a problem". Stating they don't take furniture with a print. Why eas I not told this when I sent the pictures I traveled 40 miles one way to be turned down for a donation of top of the line furniture. Habitat for Humanity is getting to big for someone wishing to donate good furniture. Sure wish they would have declined when I sent the pictures. Continue to treat people wishing to donate like this, you'll be out of business. Word of mouth is the best and worst form of advertising and I have told several people already. I'm sure the BBB will...
Read moreThey have an auction here for some nice items that come in, versus the first come first serve for everything else. My mother wanted to win something for my father for father’s day that he really wanted. Two employees there told me to come back at the end of the day the day the auction ends to garuntee it or to bid with anyone else who shows up who really want it. I was told this the day before he auction ends, twice. I show up mid day and it is gone. Apparently they gave it away by mistake the in the morning to the highest bidder. The manager said it was a mistake. I understand this is a non profit, as well as mistakes are made, but this should not happen with a silent auction item. Everything else is first come first serve, and they do this with nicer/different items for a reason. Very very...
