What a wonderful gift to the community. As soon as you enter the door you feel the tranquility the Institute exudes. I was having a NASTY fibromyalgia flare up. To be more specific a trigger point that would not release. My pain was, if not the worst, close to the worst I ever had. It sent off the charts pain up and down the left side of my body. That triggered a headache that lasted 7 days straight. My longtime acupuncturist of 20+ years teaches and continues to share her amazing gift of healing at Won. She'd be embarrassed if I mentioned her name, but her initials are DL. She is part of the handful of practitioners, the main one really, that gave me my life back. She is very familiar with treating chronic pain. I contacted her immediately and I saw her shortly after. I had a short period of time to get over this. My brother was having knee replacement surgery in 3 weeks and I was his caregiver. Each session of acupuncture coupled with a laser treatment that I could not tell you the name of was a miraculous help. For me, acupuncture causes my body to react in a way that may be different from others. Its important for you to know this. I immediately feel great, awful for the next two days or so, then a significant improvement. I can't say why. It just does. Also be aware that I set my mind to do all I can to be well. Once a month I treat locally with a massage therapist and combine that practice with cupping. Get rid of your stressors if at all possible. Get off sugar as much as possible. It all increases pain. Anyway, God gave me an earthly angel, DL, over 20 years ago who introduced me to integrative medicine. Dr. Michael P Rosenthal, my PCP at the time, referred me and I have no regrets. I pray you find healing and perhaps acupuncture is...
Read moreI've been trying to fix my ongoing back/neck pain from work and stress and figure I'd try accupuncture as a more holistic approach (especially while trying to put off Botox for TMJ/TMD). Ive seen Jefferson multiple times now and selfishly don't want him to graduate. He is so good at what he does both accupuncture wise but also his bedside manners. He explains things well and always asking if everything feels okay. After the intake information he will consult with his advisor and the come back with a tx plan that he fully explains as treatment progresses. I trust him to do anything he wants and I can feel the pain subsiding as he is sitting there working with the needles. I am writing this on the verge of tears because I'm so happy and thankful I found WON/Jefferson. (Please don't graduate but also I'm so excited for where his career takes him because he's going to be doing wonders in the world force!!) The facilities are very clean and well maintained, front desk has aways been a super sweet lady and the process is always seamless and easy to check...
Read moreAcupuncture Thankfully, the Won Institute practitioners, staff and students, have been helping me consistently for a long time. I came to them with a lengthy list, begging for relief of the many side effects of my daily chemotherapy, along with lots of aches, pains, stress and anxiety. Now, I'm old and losing independence, age and effects of 14 ½ years of daily chemo, still, no cancer cure for me. BUT, I am well and functioning, due to the amazingly wonderful, incredibly awesome acupuncture treatments I receive from a very fine group of skillful, compassionate practitioners, who are always helping me, with my body, mind and spirit needs and wishes. I sincerely express my deepest gratitude to all of you, student clinicians and teachers, there at the Won Institute, for helping me so very much by improving my quality of life, and all of your caring consistent support, I just need two thumbs on each hand to give you a big 4 thumbs up, and 5 stars, too.., honestly, 10! Sincerely, Carolyn Dietz...
