If there was an option for zero stars, I would. First, email should NOT be the only way to get ahold and ask questions. 2. Answering emails in an quick and efficient manner, would be appreciated if indeed you do NOT have a working phone number. 3. The website doesn’t have the information readily available for users. I had to go twice, to obtain information and each time it was an ordeal to complete 2 simple processes such as a Cédula replacement and registering my son for dual citizenship. 4. Immediately go in during my second visit which I had scheduled an appointment over a month prior, I was told that the system was down and they couldn’t help me. They had my information and no one could communicate and let me know so I didn’t drive down. Immediately with that, I requested to speak with the Head of the consulate, he told me their protocol and advised he would help me but first I needed to get my pictures retaken (which was an off shade of white 🙄. ) So gave him the benefit of the doubt and did it, to come back and have another issue as I was told originally the first visit, I needed my sons birth certificate translated and apostiled. No one told me the apostiled also needed to be translated. So in the consulate I was forced to find some on a whim to do that for me, as I’m not a certified translator. So word of advice ANY process you are planning to do , get the documents translated to Spanish and save yourself a headache. The staff aren’t helpful, they are sassy, I had one staff who was at the time helping me get my replacement cédula , she asked for my id number ( I never lived a long period in Colombia max 90 days, so memorizing the number would be silly) I look It up and provided it to her and I see her texting the main office in bogota the number but along with that making fun that I didn’t know my number 😡. That’s NOT what you do to provide good customer service. They need to educate in positive customer service. The only thing that made this experience somewhat ok was the fact their office closes at 2 pm and they did finish my paperwork at 2:30 and they didnt just tell me to come back the next day or something...
Read moreI went to Washington DC. From Seattle. It was a 6 hour flight. Then on March 31, my partner and I went to the Colombian Embassy. She is from Colombia, she needed a certificate. This was for proof that she lives in the United States. She asked the customer service lady. the lady said we don't need appointments. They called my partner upstairs. And I was in the waiting room. Then after 3 minutes my partner came back downstairs. She was upset and mad. She told me let's go. We went outside the building. And I asked her what happened .why are you crying. She told me that the woman who called her upstairs she told that my partner needed a photocopy of her ID and a bill with her name on it. We are new to Washington DC and we have no idea where to go for a photocopy. My partner said that .she saw that there are many photo copy machines, printers in side the room. in front of that woman. Why did the woman ask her for a photocopy paper? Why didn't she help her for photocopying? That was a Colombian embassy, they had to help their people. That lady officer had to help us. She did not. She did difficult for us . Then we came back to Seattle without doing anything. That lady officer doesn't deserve that job. Why is she here if she doesn't want to help her people.? That lady is a stupid bitch. The Colombian Embassy needs to send that bitch back to Colombia. We are all immigrants. This is not our country. We need to help each other. All the people who work in the embassy. We pay for them along with our taxes. Why don't they want to help us? If you don't want to help go back...
Read moreYou really need to investigate the Los Angeles Consulate. Just read the numerous reviews about appointments. They are selling appointments for $40 by calling a number and getting you to pay money for an appointment, that was directly told to us by a person who works there and it was quite shocking. They are very corrupt at this consulate. Just look at the hundreds of comments under the reviews page on their website. Poor citizens are suffering because of it. For the sake of the citizens I hope you...
