Excellent food! Fresh ingredients! Warm and friendly small business owners! I have been a regular at Chopsmith since they opened. They are the only place at the wharf for healthy, quick, affordable food, and as such, have become a staple for those who live here. Since they have opened they have been one of the only businesses (or maybe the only business) not to raise prices or implement a service charge for customers. They have also catered their menu to what their customers want. They have added a market, sell bread and specialty food items, (which is essential to those who live at the wharf) and have sold me an avocado or banana if I needed one. They are also a staple for tourists who want local items during their visit (such as local olive oil, chocolates and honey).
I would like to note that I am the friend Katherine Niblock is referring to in her one star review. I do not support using an incident of bad judgement to hurt a business or person, especially publicly. Katherine would like to take down her review but Google is not allowing her to. The cashier mentioned in Katherine's story was unforgivably rude but, was immaturely reacting to personal issues with me. Her behavior as a customer service person at Chopsmith prior to this incident has always been professional. I believe it will continue to be professional for customers in the future. I wish Chopsmith the best in the future and apologize for any issues the negative review by Katherine may have caused.

Read moreI have been supporting this local restaurant since they opened and throughout the pandemic by ordering food to go, but the quality and service has unfortunately dramatically dropped. The last three orders I've placed, either part of my order was incorrect or like today (5/25/22) I had to wait over 40 minutes for my salad to be ready after I ordered it online in advance. I tried to have patience with the staff as it appeared they had several large orders at one time, but it got to the point where numerous people who arrived and ordered after me were given their orders despite the fact that I asked about my salad twice. I'm not sure if the management team is setting their staff up to fail by not having enough support, but the current order and pickup process needs a dramatic change. Paying nearly $20 for a simple salad I have to wait 40 minutes for isn't something I can continue despite wanting to support local businesses.
UPDATE: I have placed recent online orders and also ordered using the touch screens at the restaurant and the service has been prompt and correct. I'm glad that the restaurant was able to make the changes they needed to improve the wait times and accuracy of orders. This is one of the best fast/casual places in...
Read moreHorrible customer service. I used to be a regular at Chopsmith. Today, I stood in line and ordered a turkey club sandwich, which requires minimal preparation (no cooking). I waited as they filled every order except mine including those who were in line after me and it was only when the restaurant was empty did they ask me what I ordered. Several people in line after me ordered a Turkey club sandwich as well and their order was filled first. I wish I could say it was a lapse in customer service, but this has happened to me on multiple occasions in the past. I used to pre-order a salad each day for pick up. My pick up order with my name would appear on the counter. The supervisor/manager (possibly the co-owner?) would pretend he didn’t see me and service everyone else in the restaurant until it was empty and then ask me for my name and order. I will note that I have been the only person of color in the restaurant and this particular supervisor/manager (possibly the co-owner?) will service every Caucasian customer before me each time. I thought I was imagining things. And then it happened again and again. I will never set foot in this restaurant again, which is a shame because the...
