I’ll preface my review by saying that the weather on the week I visited this place was HOT and humid. However, since we could feel the strong AC coming from a bunch of businesses as we walked, we looked for a place with indoor seating.
We got to Grazie Grazie and even though they had indoor seating, you could not feel the AC at all. It felt like being in a hot box. I sincerely hope the folks in the kitchen have better AC than what you could feel in the dining area. We had already ordered, so we decided to push through.
We got two sandwiches (the Cha Cha and the Members Only), 2 bottled san pellegrinos, and a side of waffle fries.
The waffle fries had either cheese or something added before frying them that made them way too crunchy. It felt more like a chip than a fry.
The drinks were warm. Probably because their refrigerators are left open for long periods of time.
The bread of the Cha Cha (according to my guest) was over toasted to the point it felt cracker-like. The “meat” of the sandwich was also too thin, but I don’t know that that’s the kitchen’s fault. That might just have been a personal preference.
The Members Only sandwich was decent. Nothing to write home about but well served and, in my opinion probably the better value of what we had.
Perhaps our experience would have been different if the weather had been a bit more forgiving, but based on my own experience, I don’t think I would be back. Nothing against the business, just not worth it in my...
Read moreWhen it comes to bar seating a win is a win! Especially, when you don’t have to wait for table seating to open up. However, because Grazie Nonna is so brand-spankin' new to the DMV I did my fair share of waiting the night I decided to dine in with them & don’t regret the wait either!
Be mindful. The restaurant isn't very large like most establishments you might see in the city. Therefore, it's easy for them to fill up quickly. I'd highly suggest making a reservation before you go.
I ordered: Sunday Sauce. Packed with short rib and hot sausage mixed with a fair share of red sauce. It’s something about that shredded short rib that does something to the dish! If spice isn’t your thing stay away. It’s mildly spicy but not too spicy. Heartburn is real! The pasta was cooked perfectly Al dente. Their Cabernet Franc goes PERFECT with the pasta dish!
Is it worth $25 for a single dish? Some would say probably not but I F'ed my sh*t UP! The only reason why it gets 4 stars and not 5 is because I wish that I could have been able to have a slightly larger portion size - that's just the...
Read moreThis is the spot for gourmet subs! Stopped by recently with some friends and we sampled everything. This is not your average sandwich shop. It's only quality ingredients and IG worthy decor here. Definitely check out the neon signs, wall graffiti and layout of the menus. We had the 9th, Minellii, Philly special and Forager. The Philly special is a must if you love cheesesteaks! The Minelli is packed with all types of meat and the veggies stuffed inside are delicious. The addition of the spicy aioli adds a bit of a kick.
I really enjoyed the food and service here. We had a fairly large order right when the doors opened. The staff and manager were great at accommodating us. Everything was really fresh and you can tell they take time with each sub. The baguettes themselves were great in texture. Tough and crunchy on the outside. Really soft and warm on the inside. Prices are reasonable considering its the Wharf. Highly recommend checking out the menu prior to stepping in or order ahead. I'll definitely be back to try some of their other...
