The view of the water is great and you can watch kayakers and boats float by on the weekends. Also, the view of the Watergate Hotel and the Kennedy Center with the Washington Monument behind it is breathtaking. This park is close to some hidden gem restaurants in Georgetown and is a delight to visit.
Unlike the National Mall, this park is much calmer. There aren't as many tourists wanering around and standing in the middle of the walkway and there aren't as many street peddlers either. It's close to a movie theater and an ice cream shop in case it gets too hot outside. It's also near the ferry to Old Town Alexandria and National Harbor, Maryland and is a fun way to view south DC.
