I recently visited Olfactory in Georgetown, DC, and had an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish.
The moment I stepped into Olfactory, I was captivated by the chic and modern ambiance. The store is beautifully designed, creating an inviting and inspiring environment. The sleek decor and elegant displays make it a pleasure to explore the wide range of fragrances.
The experience at Olfactory is truly unique and engaging. I opted for the custom fragrance session, and it was an absolute blast. Guided by a knowledgeable fragrance expert Kristian, I was able to create a personalized scent that perfectly suits my tastes. The process was both fun and educational, as I learned about different notes and how they blend together to form a cohesive fragrance.
The staff at Olfactory are exceptional. From the warm welcome upon arrival to the attentive service throughout my visit, they went above and beyond to ensure I had a memorable experience. Their expertise and passion for fragrances are evident, and they took the time to understand my preferences and guide me through the customization process with patience and enthusiasm.
Olfactory is a gem in Georgetown. The combination of a stylish setting, a unique and interactive fragrance creation process, and outstanding customer service make it a must-visit. Whether you're looking to create your own custom scent or explore their selection of pre-made fragrances, Olfactory offers an experience that's both enjoyable and unforgettable.
My only feedback would be from when they got extremely busy and the owners came in and started taking over responsibility, which of course is within their right, but the process started to feel a bit rushed. I run my own business so I understand that you canât have people walking out of the door, but you also canât lose quality in the work and experiences you are providing to your customers.
Highly recommended for anyone seeking a personalized and high-quality fragrance experience. Five stars...
Read moreReally disappointed in the experience after seeing this so much on social media and seeing such glowing reviews. The store was dirty and the furniture run down. The door to get in was covered in fingerprints and grime. Employees were also constantly just standing around with plenty of time to clean the basics like counters, windows, and doors, but I never saw anyone clean anything the whole time. Even the cheap little plastic containers were cracked and filthy; surely it doesnât cost that much to replace. The smell in the store was so overwhelming that they recommended you constantly walk outside to better smell the scents youâre trying to choose, yet there are a lot of restaurants nearby so there was always someone outside smoking. I came to smell perfume, not cigarettes. Thereâs no air circulation in the store or coffee beans to help reset your smell. Thereâs a single speaker in the store blasting club music so loud that you canât hear the employees reading off the sheet to explain the scents. They also are using packaging labeled for their NY store. For the price I really would think they could spare the funds to get updated packaging for this DC store. Also, the current pricing is $85, which does not include tax or tip. You also canât leave a custom tip. You have to choose a preset percentage or leave no tip. Feels kinda forced. Lastly, speaking of employees standing around, the employee helping me was also helping two other people, so I was constantly sitting there for several minutes waiting for the next step while other employees stood there avoiding eye contact and doing nothing. They fill the perfume and get the packaging done before making you pay, and I was honestly tempted to just leave without paying because the experience was so bad and the scent didnât even come out that great. Extremely...
Read moreFor my birthday last year, I made a list of new things that I wanted to do over the next year. Making a custom fragrance at Olfactory NYC in Georgetown made the list.
Iâd been wanting to go for a while, but either Olfactory NYC was booked or the timing didnât work. Finally got an appt on a Sunday afternoon a few weeks ago. The studio was busy and a little tight. Itâs located in a small, narrow, but cute and colorful space.
The staff is friendly. They greeted me as soon as I walked inside. I was able to easily and quickly check-in. I only had to wait a few mins for an available seat. While I waited I took a look at the various scents and descriptions to get a feel for the experience.
Once a seat became available, I was paired with one of the fragrance associates. Youâre asked to smell the available fragrances along the wall, then select your top few favorite scents and keep narrowing it down from there. In between, youâre asked to step outside to get a more true sense of the scent. I may have gone in and out 3 times. It may seem awkward standing outside continuously smelling your wrist, but itâs worth it.
Once you narrow down your fragrance selection, you pick a bottle color and name for your fragrance. Your character limit is 9. Luckily my fragrance name was within the limit.
The associate, who worked with me was so nice. She illustrated my fragrance card with a special touch, which was very sweet of her! Thank you, Sydney!
I love my fragrance! I would absolutely do it again and plan to create a summer fragrance. I would highly recommend Olfactory NYC Georgetown for a girlâs days out, date experience or solo outing. Itâs a lot of fun to create your own personal fragrance. I really enjoyed the experience at Olfactory...
