I come to the Union Station location at least once a month and make a big purchases in the amount of $58.00 to $85.00 each time. What can I say, love premium chocolate. Itâs one of the little pleasure and comfort I indulge in. In the past, the customer service experience almost matched the quality of the product, but over time has become less and less. When I went there yesterday my experience with the lack of customer service brought me to writing this review. I noticed change as of late late, in general the staff and manager have an air of disdain when they have to wait on me. They also donât seem to know much about the products or care to say much. All they have to say is âDo you want to try a sample?â and âDo you want to buy it and how much?â Little engagement and they seem to have an attitude that A. They donât want to be bothered. B. They rather be somewhere else instead of there. For C. I may be far reaching on this is but they have an attitude of âyou canât afford to buy this chocolate why are you wasting my timeâŠyou just come here for the samples â. There is certainly an air among the staff there. The one staff member that may have been new to Laderach I found to be friendly, but went out of his way to make sure I made payment on my purchase, and he wasnât the gentleman doing the transaction. Now that did give me the impression that I was trying to get over on the business. I didnât see this happening so much to other customers. Another thing I noticed, every time I go there itâs always a male staff. I never see any diversity with nationality, age or gender. I love, love the product and would like to continue to patron the business, but the experience is less than desirable, and quite frankly seems unwelcoming. My suggestion is bring back customer service and hire people who want to work, or have an appreciation for the finer things in...
Read moreSomehow I've never experienced LÀderach before, despite being a bit of a chocolate nut. While shopping a nearby competitor (Neuhaus) that my family has long enjoyed, I dropped in to LÀderach on an impulse.
Great decision!
Briana (store manager I think) was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. She educated me on many of the products and also gave several relevant samples. She also listened about my family's preferences and made sound recommendations. Dion quickly obtained samples and was friendly as well.
To say the least, the quality is absolutely amazing. Some standouts: Tartufi (any) and the dark chocolate bark with hazelnuts. LĂ€derach seems to be more of an innovator, rather than keeping with classical pralines etc. Those are all available but their unique barks and Tartufi are standouts. The Tartufi are a very unique texture that's indescribable - slightly crumbly but with a hint of marzipan density (not the flavour). The products are not cheap but as I texted my son while testing it was "almost a religious experience". Heh.
So glad I stopped in and also much thanks to...
Read moreHello, my dear fellow chocolate lovers. I am delighted to inform you that my wife, two workers of Union Station, and I had the privilege of seeing three mice roaming around the store. One took off to the back of the store where that arrow is aiming, another one is still in the middle of the store (seemingly in a sugar coma â see the red circle), and the last one (that we saw) was in left, bottom corner of the picture. It is not showing, but we have him on the video. I didnât have a chance to record the first one as he escaped into the back before I could start my camera.
Note that the chocolate is not fully covered, and itâs very easy for the mice to access and nibble on.
Dear LĂ€derach - you should keep your store closed and dispose of all your product. The place needs to be disinfected for the health and safety of your customers.
The original video was recorded at 7:50PM on...
