National Archives Store — Local services in Washington

My 13 year old went to this gift shop on Tuesday afternoon with a group of students who are visiting for the week. She likes to get snow globes from the different places we visit. While looking at snow globes to see which one she wanted, a male staff member took the snow globe from her and said she can’t touch it unless she was going to buy it. She said okay and walked away because she felt like the employee was annoyed with her. She is a very sweet, non-confrontational child and did not want to say/do anything to further aggravate the employee.

That was horrible customer service especially since she was considering which one she wanted to purchase. At the very least, he could have asked her if she needed help and not just assume she wasn’t going to purchase anything. Hopefully this employee’s bad attitude can be addressed by the managers because his actions...

The store looked well stocked and neatly organized...
