My wife and I loved this DC monument night tour. The pace is fast but just enough to take some pics and spend 10 or so minutes at each stop. Over the years we have visited most of the monuments during the day and stayed as long as we wanted, so this was perfect to see it all at night with lighting. It was really something special to see all lit up at night. If you have never been to DC before you will want spend more time at each monument then this particular tour allows for. But if you are here for a few days a tour like this is great to just get an overview of things and then go back to the ones that interested you most. There were a few that we had never seen before that I know want to go back to see during the day, either now or the next time we visit. So it is great to see at night but it’s fast paced…..lasts about 3hrs and you see a good amount of the monuments and become aware of many more as the guide talks about many points of interest as you drive. Our Guide Ken was fantastic. My wife and I do these type tours at most of the cities we travel to so we can get a nice overview, and Ken was one of the better guides we have had. He was very knowledgeable and had great demeanor. Our driver Terrell was kind, safe and courteous as well. Lastly, we paid extra for a glass type bus view. This was nice and did allow for more visibility as you drive and look around, but you get off at every stop so it was not a necessity. But having said that, the up-charge for the panoramic view seemed to make our tour bus smaller, which I liked much better. We were with a smaller group, of 12-16 people instead of many more a regular bus would have had. This made the tour seem more private. So I’m not sure I would pay the extra for the panoramic view, but the fact that the group was small and the bus could maneuver around better was worth the...
Read moreIf you're looking to tackle the best of Washington, D.C. without pulling your hair out over maps, monument wait times, or which side of the Capitol the entrance is on (spoiler: it’s never the one you think), US Guided Tours is the way to go.
This whirlwind adventure had us checking off major sights like the State Capitol and National Archives with VIP-style ease—no long lines, no frantic Googling, and no arguing with GPS. Except for the Capitol building, where we had to queue briefly, but honestly, that line moved faster than a tourist spotting a food truck.
Shoutout to our guides, Nick and Rocky, who were absolute gems—overflowing with knowledge, jokes, and just the right amount of dad humor. They made history feel less like a textbook and more like a good story told over drinks.
Now, the not-so-sunny bits: it literally wasn’t sunny. The riverboat ride felt more like a scene from a pirate movie—windy, wet, and chilly enough to make even George Washington wish he’d stayed ashore. And lunch? A modest 45-minute break, which was a bit of a scramble for anyone with dietary needs more specific than “hungry.”
Some spots we wished we had more time to soak in, but that’s the tradeoff when you’re trying to see everything in one go—it's a sampler platter of America’s finest landmarks, and it definitely left us wanting more (in a good way).
Overall? A highly recommended ride through history, humor, and a touch of unpredictable weather. 4.5 stars and a round of applause to the team at US...
Read moreWe took the evening memorial Tour.. we caught it at our hotel which was very convenient. This tour came highly recommended so I hate to contradict it. It had all the makings of a great experience. Our Guide Deion was knowledgeable and entertaining, but as the night went on, the tour turned into a hike trying to keep up with Deion. There were maybr 40+ passengers and he got off the bus first and started his script while he walked. Only 10 or so people were close enough to hear him. Other guides with the same Company seemed to stop at a point of interest and wait for their customers to catch up…then the information was shared. Deion seemed most proud when we were back on the bus with time to spare. He was charming but I would suggest that his assignments be with small groups where people were not racing through the dark to see where he was. I liked the route but truthfully heard less than 1/3 of His script. He’s a big fan of numerology and as a 13 lover myself, I would have appreciated being able to interact . More info is not better. By the last stop, I would suggest his speed and limited focus, and the lack of delivering the product to all his customers feels disrespectful. I would suggest his supervisors instruct him on how to be a true tour guide, not a stand up speaker. At the very least, wait until the 40 people are off the bus before Deion starts his data dump of all the statistics he has...
