Walgreens Pharmacy — Local services in Washington

Sigh. I have been using Walgreens for decades. Loyal in fact. The location is inconvenient, No parking, unsafe with homeless and drug dealers all around but I picked up my prescriptions from this location regularly. Recently my doctor changed some of my prescriptions. I notified the pharmacy twice that specific ones had been discontinued by my doctor. When I came to pick up my meds, I paid approx $100 in co-pays only to find out when I got home, they filled a prescription I had already told them my doctor discontinued. I called immediately and spoke with someone on the phone and she told me to bring in the receipt and meds and I'll be refunded. When I got to the pharmacy, the pharmacist refused to take the meds back or issue a refund. We argued for a bit but I got nowhere with her. In the end I left in a huff and transferred ALL of meds to a CVS a block from my house. I'm done with Walgreens. Horrible Service, Unyielding and would rather I take the hit than to refund me $14 and discard the unused meds. Ridiculous. I would never treat a customer as this...

I called the pharmacy and was placed on hold for 38minutes 41 seconds. I'm still holding now to see if the woman will ever return to the phone. The interesting thing is I have sat here with full access to all of the conversations going on in the pharmacy i.e. customer information etc. These people really need to do a "better" job at properly answering the phone and attending to customers. The woman who answered had an accent, and you could hear pills etc being counted. There was another woman in the background attending drive thru who seemed to be doing her job. I was able to call another D.C. Walgreens and was helped within a couple of minutes. I just held the line to see if this woman would ever return, or if I could hear anymore information. Thx Walgreens!

By the way, it's 50 minutes now! I'm hanging up I have far more important things to do...

I recently stayed at a hotel near this Walgreens. It has three floors. The too floor has fancy items and brand name products. The lower floor has all the everyday stuff I needed. The one think I was looking for were prepackaged sandwiches which they didn’t have. The whole cooler was empty and blocked with tape. It looks like they have a sushi bar that is opened during the day. Unfortunately, the two times went there was late at night. The customer service was pretty decent. The cashiers and floor stockers...
