The Bakery Waterford — Restaurant in Waterford Township

Super disappointed. We've been getting our birthday cakes here since they opened in Waterford and have never been disappointed until now. Typically they make us a beautiful and delicious birthday cake year after year. This year however, we ordered two cakes already. One is the same cake we've been ordering for a couple years. This year we got what looked and tasted like something an 8 year old threw together. If I knew that was going to be the outcome I would have made it myself or gone to Kroger. That was for his birthday last month. Mine was last week. I asked for a red velvet cheesecake with white chocolate shavings on the side and received a cheesecake died completely red with cocoa powder on the sides of it, white chocolate melted on its top then covered with frosting. It honestly tasted horrible. My husband was so embarrassed. No one ate it. We literally took it back. My happy birthday message was thrown on the cake when my hubby picked it up, they hadn't written on it. The girl behind the counter attached a white circle using frosting, to the side of the cake and threw it in the box where the lettering got smashed. They must have a new baker and clearly a new wait staff. To top it off the girl behind the counter was rude and could have cared less when we brought our birthday cake back to the store for a refund. Excellence. Perfection. Absolutely the best carrot cake you can ever have!

My son and daughter in law, lives in Florida and found them on the internet. They ordered a birthday cake for me, and I have to tell you it was the best carrot cake I have ever had. Since then, a little over 2 years ago, they have become our bakery.

The girl that handed the box to me was such a joyous, happy person, that absolutely loves her job. What I found as an additional fact, was that when the box was opened, everything was where it should be. The beautiful designs at the top and bottom of the cake made from their delicious frosting, were not on the side of the box, like most cakes from anywhere else would be, was not the case here.

Everything that was on the cake was where it should be...on the cake!

They have become our bakery for life, and should be yours also. Every time my son orders a cake or cupcakes for holidays, birthdays, or for no special occasion are from them. They love what they do for a living, and I'm so happy this is their path in life. Such joy and happiness is what we feel every single time! I was really looking forward to getting my daughter's birthday cake from here. I've read so many glowing reviews so I was definitely expecting a good experience. The cake was beautiful. We did a Nemo and Dory theme and they did an outstanding job on decorating the cake. The customer service was great when we placed the order and picked up the cake. The problem was the taste of the frosting. It literally taste like it was just slathered in Crisco, it left a greasy, oily taste in your mouth and tasted like nothing. It wasn't sweet at all, I wonder if they forgot to add sugar to the frosting??? Not one person out of our twenty person party liked the cake. I don't know if that's how the cake's normally taste or if a mistake had been made when preparing our cake, idk :-/ It was pretty embarrassing :-( I was so disappointed because it was such a beautiful cake which is why I gave a 3 star...
